1. Copy less.exe, vecho.exe, and lesskey.exe to a directory in your PATH.

2. Copy less.hlp to a directory in your DPATH. Alternatively, specify
the full path for less.hlp (including the filename) in the environment
variable LESSHELP.

3. Copy emx.exe and emxl.exe to a directory in your PATH

4. Copy emx.dll to a directory in your LIBPATH

(If you have emx, emacs, or emTeX already installed, you may skip
steps 3 and 4, provided you make sure that your copies of emx.exe,
emxl.exe, and emx.dll are from emx 0.8d or later)

5. Copy termcap.dat to any directory and specify the full path name in
the environment variable TERMCAP. E.g., in your config.sys, put

	set termcap=d:\emx\etc\termcap.dat

The default path for termcap.dat is \emx\etc\termcap.dat.

The termcap.dat included here is identical to that distributed with
emacs, except that it fixes some minor bugs for ansi-color-2 and
ansi-color-3.

6. Specify your preferred terminal type in the enviroment variable
TERM. See termcap.dat for possible terminal types. (I prefer
ansi-color-2)

	set term=ansi-color-2

If TERM conflicts with some other program that uses the same variable
(such as IBM TCP/IP's telnet), you may use LESSTERM instead of TERM.
If neither LESSTERM nor TERM is set, the terminal type defaults to
ansi.

7. The default editor for the "v" command is emacs. If you don't have
emacs, or prefer a different editor, set the environment variable
LESSEDIT appropriately (see less.man for details).

8. If you want to customize the key bindings, set the environment
variable HOME to point to the directory that should contain your
".less" file.

	set home=d:\home

If you use FAT, you won't be able to use ".less" as a filename, so use
the -o option for lesskey.exe and the -k option for less.exe (the
latter can be specified in the environment variable "less").

9. Read *.man for instructions on how to use less. See README.os2 and
os2_glob.txt for implementation-specific features.
