Hi,

Because I had such a TERRIBLE time, dealing with NCR, trying to get newer
drivers for their 53c810 chip, used in many of the newer PCI systems, I
have put some information together regarding the location of drivers for
this chip.

Although NCR seemed destined to never publicly post these drivers, they NOW
seem to have their act together, and the drivers are available on their
SCSI BBS in Colorado Springs (719-596-1649). They have also been made
available on NCR's Internet site, at ncrinfo.ncr.com. As of this date
(5/20/94), they are in the subdirectory pub/ncrchips/scsi/drivers/os2.
The current file name is OS2_DRV.ZIP (in both places).

As of this writing, the current version of the drivers is 3.02.00, and has
been uploaded here in OS2USER, Lib 3, as OS2NCR.EXE. If (however), you are
looking for (at some later date) a newer version of the drivers, then the
above two sources are probably the place to go.

FWIW, you should also be aware that if you are using drivers of a lower
version that 3.02, then any memory on your system, beyond 16MB, will NOT
be utilized (by OS/2) as pageable memory. You should definitely upgrade
to these latest drivers in order to take full advantage of "large memory"
systems.

Good luck...
