rlgBISF v1.0 README.TXT
=============================================================
rlgBISF is a shareware program written for OS/2 to backup
important system files. It is a PM-based program written
using Watcom's VX-REXX. It requires OS/2 2.1 or above with
REXX installed and the VX-REXX runtime VROBJ.DLL version
2.03 or above. (See VROBJDLL.URL to download this file.)

Features include the ability to quickly backup selected
files, including CONFIG.SYS, AUTOEXEC.BAT, WIN.INI, OS2.INI
and OS2SYS.INI, to a user specified drive and directory.
Backup activities are logged and, if the need arises, the
backup can be quickly restored using a generated REXX program.

INSTALLATION PROGRAM:
=====================
Unzip rbisfv10.zip to a temporary directory or to a floppy.
Type INSTALL.CMD to start the installation process. The
program will prompt you for an installation directory, and
the drives that Windows and OS/2 are installed on.

MANUAL INSTALLATION:
====================
Unzip rbisfv10.zip to a temporary directory or to a floppy.
Create a directory for rlgBISF, and copy all the files just
unzipped into this new directory. Create a program object
from the Templates folder, using program rlgBISF.EXE and a
working directory of the directory you created for rlgBISF.
If you use the manual installation method, rlgBISF assumes
that DOS/Windows is installed on the C: drive and OS/2 is
installed on the E: drive. If this is not true for your
system, you must use the supplied installation program, or
you can change the defaults by editing rlgBISF.INI and
changing dos_drive and os2_drive to the appropriate drive
letters.

UNINSTALLING rlgBISF:
=====================
Run UNINSTAL.CMD from the rlgBISF install directory. This
will delete all files supplied with rlgBISF and clean up
any entries in OS2.INI specific to rlgBISF.

DISCLAIMERS:
============
rlgBISF was written for a system which includes DOS 6, windows 3.11
and OS/2, with separate DOS and OS/2 partitions using Boot Manager.
It has not been tested on any other versions of DOS, windows or
OS/2. It may or may not work on dual boot systems. It will not
work on systems in which the default directory structure of windows
or OS/2 has been changed. It may or may not backup to networked
drives or removable media drives such as floptical or Jaz drives.
These disclaimers are based on lack of testing, not any inherent
limitations in rlgBISF.

REGISTERING rlgBISF:
====================
The demo version of rlgBISF functions normally for the first
10 backups performed, after which time the backup function is
disabled. To continue using rlgBISF, you must register it.
To register rlgBISF, follow the instructions found in the
register.txt file.
