Herbert,

>>"Can I learn enough about AI from your Prolog implementation to retrofit
into my application?"<<

A qualified yes. Logic-programming is only one of the techniques arising from
AI research, and PMPro would give you enough introduction to this to allow you
to retrofit the techniques into your products. It would not show you how to
do the assembler version of itself, but it would allow you to understand the
specification for what you need to do. It is not a neural net (cf: Kohonen)
product, though.

The best AI-in-assembler book I have seen is "Intelligent Embedded Systems",
by Odette, Addison Wesley, ISBN 0-201-51753-1. It is probably closer to what
you need than my product.

Gregory,

Thank you for the pointer to the book, it is greatly appreciated. Is there
someplace where I can download some information about your product? In general
when venturing into unknown territory, I like to cast a wide net and see how
it works in my mind.

Jay,

Information on PMPro is in OS2AVEN library 1 as PMPRO.INF or PMPRO.TXT. The
latter is the text-only part of the former. The INF has screen shots, etc.

Post your questions and thoughts about chapter 1 as a response to this
message.

Is your product a discontinuous innovation or a continuous innovation?

Does the notion of "cracks in the bell curve" fit your observations about your
business, about IBM's marketing challenges with OS/2, with the world of high
technology in general?

Have you been marketing your application as a *change agent* or a
*productivity improvement*? Has that message been sent to the right audiences?

Dive right in.

I have a software product that when hooked to a specialized hardware device
will produce
chocolate truffles that are extremely inexpensive yet amazingly tasty.

What should I do first to help market this product?

Obviously, this requires lots of hand-on testing. I'll send you my address.
