The list box object can be used as an index, table of contents, or a register allowing you to easily display various files and objects without leaving the page. One such application of this would be for CD-ROM menus having a lot of objects on the first page, including windows in which program descriptions and screen shots will be displayed. To explain this concept, and how to use it, we provide the following example:

1. First create a title page (menu page).
Also on this page place the object(s)
where data (text, pictures, etc.) will be
placed. These objects are called masks.
To make a mask that will contain various
pieces of text ("text mask fields"), create
a text object, double click on it to open
its Options dialog, and set the Copy type
    to "Mask."

2. The next step is to create as many pages
as there are data files for the mask fields.
For example, if you're going to flip
through ten pictures in a picture mask,
create ten new pages. The mask objects,
like global objects, will appear on each
page. But unlike global objects (which
remain the same on all pages), the mask
objects will be filled with data which
varies from page to page. Enter or load
the appropriate data into the mask
objects on these pages for example, if
you've added ten new pages for
ten graphics, load each of the ten
graphics into each of the ten new pages.

3. Now return to the title page and insert a
list box object. Open its Options dialog
and select the button (in the "Use object
for:" section) "mask field jumps." Click
on the button "Page Select:" and select
all of the pages that contain mask fields
which you want listed in the list. The
names of these pages (or their keywords,
if you select the "Use keyword" option)
will be listed in the list box.

4. Now during the presentation, you can
click on an page entry in the list box and
that page's object data is loaded into the
respective mask objects. Note that you
aren't skipping to that page - you're never
leaving the title page - but loading the
mask field data from that page.
