The OS/2 LADDR Update utility copies the LADDR driver files to your
OS/2 Install diskette and updates your .SCD file. In addition, if
there is not enough space on the Install diskette, the utility also
moves the video driver files (*.RC@) to the Disk 1 diskette.

                                    - NOTE -
Since the Update utility writes to your OS/2 Install diskette, and
possibly to your OS/2 Disk 1 diskette, you should make a backup copy
of those diskettes before running the utility.

*** DO NOT USE YOUR ORIGINAL INSTALLATION DISKETTES! ***

Adding LADDR support to OS/2 Installation Diskettes
     ---------------------------------------------------

To run the Update utility, perform the following steps:

        1. Boot your system under MS-DOS 2.0 or higher.

        2. Insert the OS/2 LADDR Update diskette in drive A:.

        3. Enter the following commands:

           a: <enter>
           update <enter>

The program performs the following steps:

        1. Asks you to select which device driver to install.

        2. Copies into RAM all the LADDR files from the \DISK0 and
\DISK0.35 directories on the OS/2 LADDR Update diskette.

        3. Prompts you to insert the Install diskette. The Update utility
looks for a volume ID of "OS2 INSTALL." If your diskette has a
different volume ID, the utility allows you to use the Install
           diskette anyway.

        4. Examines the space available on the Install diskette. If there
is not enough space for the LADDR files, the Update utility
           performs the following steps:

              a. Copies the video driver files (*.RC@) to RAM so they can
be moved to the Disk 1 diskette.

              b. Deletes the .RC@ files from the Install diskette.

        5. Copies the LADDR files to the Install diskette.

        6. Updates the .SCD file on the Install diskette, if there is such
           a file.

        7. If there is no .SCD file on the Install diskette, or if the .RC@
files are to be moved to the Disk 1 diskette, the Update utility
           performs the following steps:

              a. Prompts you to insert the Disk 1 diskette. The Update
utility looks for a volume ID of "OS2 DISK 1." If your
diskette has a different volume ID, the utility allows you
to use the Disk 1 diskette anyway.

              b. Updates the .SCD file on the Disk 1 diskette.

              c. Copies the the .RC@ files from RAM to the Disk 1 diskette,
                 if necessary.

After the update is complete, follow the normal procedures for
     installing your version of OS/2.

Adding LADDR support to systems with OS/2 already installed
     -----------------------------------------------------------

If OS/2 is already installed on your system, you do not need to update
your OS/2 installation diskettes. Instead, copy the LADDR files to
     drive C: on your system.

From either the OS/2 Window or the DOS Compatibility Window, perform
     the following steps:

        1. Insert the OS/2 LADDR Update diskette in drive A:.

        2. Copy the LADDR files, as follow:

           copy a:\disk0 c:\ <enter>
           copy a:\bid c:\ <enter>

        3. If you have an Micro Channel Architecture (MCA) system, such as
a PS/2, you must also copy the files from \DISK0.35, as follows:

           copy a:\disk0.35 c:\ <enter>

After copying the LADDR files to drive C:, follow the OS/2 shutdown
procedures and reboot your system. Also, if you have a Dell Drive
Array running the native mode driver, run the EISA Configuration
     Utility and select AHA154x mode.
