Multi-Server Tool Installation Instructions
-------------------------------------------

1. Visual Basic Run-time Libraries

In order to minimise the size of the distribution file, this
Multi-Server Tool package does not include the Visual Basic 4
16-bit run-time libraries that are required to installation and
run the program.

If you have previously installed a 16-bit Visual Basic 4
application on your PC then these run-time libraries will already
be installed. You can use VB416CHK.BAT to determine if the
libraries are installed or manually check that the following files
exist in the WINDOWS\SYSTEM directory:

     COMPOBJ.DLL
     CTL3DV2.DLL
     OC25.DLL
     OLE2.REG
     OLE2.DLL
     OLE2CONV.dll
     OLE2DISP.dll
     OLE2NLS.DLL
     OLE2PROX.dll
     SCP.DLL
     STDOLE.TLB
     STORAGE.DLL
     TYPELIB.DLL
     VAEN21.OLB
     VB40016.DLL

Even if you have all these files installed they may prove to be an
older version. The files need to be registered in windows so
copying the missing files from another workstation is unlikely to
be effective.

If any of the above files are missing or you experience any
problems installing or using MST then you must install the VB4
runtime libraries.

The VB4 runtime files needed for this program can be found on
Simtel.Net at the following URL:

  http://www.simtel.net/simtel.net/win3/dll.html

The latest VB4 runtime (along with others) is clearly identified on
that page. The present listing is:

  vb40016a.zip 1.2M VB4 (16-bit) Runtime Modules.
                      Self-installing 10-Sep-98

Most other sources of shareware software, including bulletin boards
and Internet FTP sites, will also provide a package containing the
required files. The package should be approximately 1500Kb in size and
will often be found in a general utlitily area. Look for files
containing VB4, VB16, RUN and/or VB400 in their name (e.g. VB40016.ZIP,
VB4RUN16.ZIP), or search for "VB4", "16", and "RUNTIME".

If you have any difficulty obtaining the runtime files, visit the
krillagen web site at http://www.krillagen.com

2. System Requirements.

MST is a NetWare 3.x management program so you will need
supervisor access to at least one NetWare 3.x file server. Your
target workstation will need to have Windows 3.x, Windows 95/98,
or Windows NT 3.51/4 and a client for NetWare installed. Novell
NETX, VLM, CLIENT32 and IntraNetWare clients are supported. If you
have a Windows 95/98 or NT workstation you can use Microsoft's
client but you may obtain better results if you install a Novell
supplied client.

3. Running Setup

You must run SETUP.EXE from within windows to install MST onto the
target workstation. If you are running Windows 95 or NT 4 then
select the RUN option from the START menu, otherwise select the
RUN option from the FILE menu in File Manager.

SETUP.EXE will ask you to select the directory into which you want
to install MST into. It will then automatically install the
components onto your machine and create a program group icon or
start menu item. If you are installing from floppy disk you will
be prompted to insert the second disk when necessary.

4. First Time Execution

The first time you execute MST you will need to specify a
registration server for MST to use to co-ordinate access. If MST
has never been installed on your network before you may select any
NetWare 3.x server but ideally it should be a server you are that
you are permanently connected to.

If MST has been previously installed on another workstation on
your network you should use the same server as was specified for
that workstation.

Before you execute MST for the first time you should ensure that
you are logged into at least one NetWare 3.x server as the
SUPERVISOR or a SUPERVISOR equivalent. Ideally this should be your
Primary server or a server you are permanently attached to.

When you first execute MST you will be asked to read and agree to
the software license agreement and disclaimer. Unless you make
such an agreement you may not use MST.
