The "extended partition" is NOT a primary partition, but it takes the place of
a primary partition.

JT> So, no, you don't need a separate primary on the second drive.

Each harddisk has its own primary partition. Otherwise, you would be limited
to just 4 primary partitions on all harddisks combined, which is not the case.

Strange that every program I have calls it a primary partition. Here is a
listing from Partition info from Powerquest.

Each hardisk has whatever you put on it. See Above.

I'm not so sure about that. Whenever I've fdisked a non-primary drive
to have only extended partitions a minimum size, hidden, partition is
created (it looks like a hidden primary partition to me).

Mike,

From your list I would think you managed to get BM in the middle of the drive,
not in the begining or end.

How did you manage this, I didnt think it was possible??

TIA
