MGA G200 has been made in PCI versions in the past. It should be possible to
locate one one the net somewhere.

One of the messages just past was about what OS2 related products, especially
OS2 itself, are available on current EBay auctions.

If all disks and/or CD's are there plus manuals, then go ahead and buy it you
can then register it with IBM. If they are copies then you can't look over
the package very closely.

Hope this helps. Keep us posted.

We are a fine board trying to make it better.

Partitionmagic can shrink the fat32 partition that is there and then move it
down the drive to the end leaving space at the beginning of the drive for BM.

Hello All!

Since ibm.net has been sold to at&t I have a question. I went with ibm.net as
an isp since they seemed the logical choice for an OS/2 user. I went to the
download page of at&t (directed to it by the notice from ibm.net) and looked
to see if there was an OS/2 version of their connection software. If there is
something other than winX, or Mac software there I cannot see it. Is there a
good ISP to be had out there that supports OS/2?

K.

OS2 is more like LINUX than people realize. Any ISP that can accept a
connection from LINUX can accept a connection from OS2. Use the same basic
configuration information, but run the OS2 configuration tools instead of
editing the LINUX text files.

For example, you will need the following information from an ISP to access
their services, the primary and secondary domain servers (dotted 4 IP
address), whether they are providing a DHCP connection or a static IP address,
if a static IP address you will need your address and the subnet mask. In
either case you need the gateway address (what OS2 and the rest of the world
calls the router). You will need to know your systems host name, as well as
the domain name.

The only other question is whether the ISP uses PAP/CHAP authentication or
some other method requiring a script. Ask for the prompts that are necessary
to get a LINUX system connected if they don't use PAP/CHAP and you will be all
set.

All this info goes into either DOIP or else into InJoy or some other 3rd party
dialer. DOIP is built in and included in the Warp Bonus pak, but InJoy is a
far superior dialer program and I highly recomend it. You can get an eval copy
from BMT Micro's web site as well as register it there directly.

Some of the things it can do is dial on demand, allow all the other systems in
your house to access the single connection using your built in LAN.
