  Hi,

   I'm trying to get the BBS moved to OS/2 but I've run into a bit of a
problem. Anything that is called external to the BBS refuses to run, i.e.
DSZ, PKZIP, etc. I can download/upload Bluewave packets via the door as long
as I use the internal DSZ, same for downloading files via the BBS. I can't
pack mail in the Bluewave door because PKZIP refuses to run. What's up?

Hi Gary,

Are you using Ray Gwinn's SIO com drivers? If not, you should. If
you are have you added the switch at the end of the port definition in
CONFIG.SYS that will let OS/2 & DOS sessions share the port?

Here's the lines from my CONFIG.SYS - the first line wrapped:

DEVICE=C:\SIO\SIO.SYS (COM1,3F8,IRQ4,-) (COM2:38400,2F8,IRQ3,-)
(COM3:19200,3E8,IRQ5,-) (COM4:57600,INTERNET:2E8,NONE:IRQ5,-)
DEVICE=C:\SIO\VSIO.SYS
DEVICE=C:\SIO\VX00.SYS

Notice the ',-' inside each set of parenthesis? That's what you need
to use that port in both OS/2 & DOS sessions.

BTW, I know I've gone to the extreme when defining ports but when I
come back and look at something six months after the fact, I want to
know exactly what I'm reading.

Hope this helps

Charlie Smith

What does "refuses to run" mean ? What are the exact error messages ?
