From: isaacl@sonics.ece.ubc.ca (e-frog)

Just some feedback for the curious...
Some worked and some didn't.

=> Deneba Canvas 5.0.3:
Not quite. Splash screen shows up, it even asks me where the tools
directory is (cause I didn't copy it over), but then hangs. Thinks I'm
running NT4.0

=>Claris FileMaker Pro 3.0
Yes. It loads up (very slow) and I can open sample Filemaker files.
Some glitches in text and icon displays. File dialogs don't quite work
properly, I gotta type in the names. Display refresh is goofed up. A lot
of the menu actions produce no action. BUT, pretty good for an alpha.

=>Quicktime 4.0
Not quite. says it isn't installed properly.
So, I tried the QT Installer. It loads, does the progress bar. Big install
screen, prompts....and then DAMN! Says I don't have enough privileges.
Probably thinks I'm running NT4.0 again...this could be sticky issue in
the future, even if things do convert properly.

Okay, I know, doesn't sound like much, but I find it very promising for an
alpha and I'm looking forward for future versions.
Too bad I can't program worth crap :)

I'm in Canada and have heard Indelible Blue was not allowed to sell
software choice out of the USA. This was true a year and a half ago and
don't know if it has changed...

From: wkoep1@N^O^S^P^A^Mfastlane.net

Curious if anyone has Java 1.18, Netscape 2.02, and Connect (FP38)
working together. Specifically, can you click on the "Disable Java"
checkbox located in Netscape->Options->Security Preferences. Mine is
grayed out.
In an OS2 window, typing java -fullversion returns the following:
JAVA.EXE full version "JDK 1.1.8 IBM build o118-19990728 (JIT enabled:
javax V3.5-IBMJDK1.1-19990728)" The install of java 1.18 was
"successful". No errors were reported by the installer and it stated a
successful installation.

FYI, my netscape is contained in a subdirectory (F:\os2utils\nestscape).

I can here, using Connect FP38 and "JDK 1.1.8 IBM build
o118-19991026"

I don't use NS/2 v2.02 much anymore, but I was able to
enable/disable Java as described above.

I am a SC member, and being so pretty much represents the only IBM
"sponsored" future for OS/2, I heartily recommend it. In addition to
getting every update to Netscape and Java in 59 different languages, you
get a second CD with every distribution with such goodies as TCP-IP 4.1
which is only available on a fee pay basis otherwise.

Plus whenever IBM pulls another "groanhead" maneuver with OS/2, youget
to complain directly to IBM, and unlike the rest of the world, they will
respond directly to you as a "premium service" subscribor.

It doesn't mean squat in terms of influencing their decisions, cause no
one with any intelligence can do that, but it is a small consolation to
know that the particular lie in you e-mail box has been personally
crafted just for you,.

That was true about two months ago. (I'm from Romania, and the problem was not
<Romania>, but selling outside USA - that's because of a clause in the
