It's a polling system that runs several times a day here for unattended ftp
and mail sessions. Pronews can't run unattended in this configuration. Vsoup,
however, runs like a charm, but Yarn is missing all the GUI stuff and decoding
functionality that's present in Pronews. I've experimented with Changi but it
adds way too much complexity and dramatically increases the amount of disk
space required.

I believe the InJoy dialer will give you a lot more control over these
things, and probably do what was needed.

Thanks, I suspected something like that, and I'd guess that Changi is the
best solution in a two-step process. But it has all the drawbacks you
mentioned.

Have you investigated the settings available in the InJoy dialer, for
starting and ending programs automatically? I don't have it installed right
now, but used it quite heavily in this way until the cable modem showed up.

Had exactly the same problem here. An additional symptom is the filters stop
working. I emailed Southsoft about it and they never responded.

The only solution appears to be to do a shutdown and cold start of OS/2. That
was the only thing that would work here.

This is BAD news...

I wouldn't e-mail you, if you had the last e-mail address on earth.
Now go away, and Don't come back!

Subj: using PMMail as listserv

I'm trying to use PMMail 2.0 to run a listserv. Southsoft acts like all you
need to do is set it to distribute to a group (or "bounce"). What happens
though is that a message to the list appears to be sent from the original
sender, not the list. Therefore, any replies to THAT message go only to the
originator. If I set it to forward the message instead, it puts that ugly
---BEGIN FORWARDED MESSAGE--- in there. Am I missing something here?

I suggest to use a REXX script and add 'reply to: ' header.
