                   (w) Alexander Hoff, N.E.W.S. GbR

Description:
------------
HJ110v2.cmd allows you to start SUN's HotJava Browser v1.1.0 under OS/2 Warp
with IBM's JDK 1.1.4 (or above) installed.

Installation:
--------------
Simply copy HJ110v2.cmd in the hotjava base directory. This is the directory
with the following sub-directories:
                   /bin
                   /lib
                   /Script
                   /UserGuide

Usage:
------
Just type 'hj110v2.cmd' on an OS/2 command prompt (or make an object on your
wps)

Future plans:
--------------
- Your ideas (since the script does exactly what i want, so i have no
  further plans at the moment)

Why HJ110v2 ?
--------------
Java is plattform independent, but it seemed to be that SUN simply don't care
about other plattforms than solaris and windows. The hotjava browser
version 1.1.0 is only avaivable in plattform dependent a self-extracting
archive or executable. In in addition to that there's no script included
to run the hotjava browser on an other plattform than windows or unix.
But since the hotjava browser is 100% pure java program, it will run on
many other operating systems. HJ119v2 enables OS/2 users to run hotjava
under their operating systems. Of course, IBM's OS/2 JDK Port 1.1.4 and
the hotjava browser (see below) must be installed.

Where can i get SUN's hotjava browser?

There is no hotjava browser for my operating system
-----------------------------------------------------
If you are not using unix or windows, you are right. In fact, SUN doesn't
provide a 'native' ZIP-file containing only the HotJava Browser v1.1.0 or
something similar (don't ask me, why SUN do it this way with a pure java
program). But as you may have already supposed there is still a way. OS/2
users have to perform the following steps:

1. Download the Solaris Version of the HotJava Browser
2. Download PKZIP for OS/2, if you don't have it (http://www.pkware.com/pkos2250.html)
In addition to that you need the DOS archiv since there is a utility
   named pkzipfix included (http://www.pkware.com/pkz204g.html).
3. 'Fix' the solaris self extracting archive with pkzipfix. You will get a
native zip-file out of it (without the unix self-extracting header).
4. Unzip the zip file (step 3) with pkzip (OS/2 version) in the desired target
   directory for your HotJava browser
5. Copy the HJ11v2.CMD REXX-script in this directory
6. Finished. Now you can start the REXX script which will start the
   HotJava browser.
