ALiVe! 1.0 Basic Description
For a variety of reasons, web pages move and occasionally
disappear without any notification to the people who link to them.
ALiVe! simply verifies these links and reports to you which ones
   are dead links.

ALiVe! 1.0 Detailed Description
At first, ALiVe! works very similarly to a web browser. You give
it a URL, it downloads the page from the web, and then extracts
the links. The major difference being that instead of displaying
the page for you to read, AliVe extracts all of the links from the
page and puts them into a database. It then proceeds to download
each of the links that it deems to also be a part of your website.

Once it has downloaded all of the pages from your site and
extracted the links, it begins the "Validation" process. By
validation, I mean that it connects to the webserver that the link
points to and attempts to download the page as usual. If it an
error, it logs the error and continues on. If the download begins
successfully, it will cancel the transfer and move on to the rest
   of the links.

At the end of the process, you are presented with a detailed
summary of the number of links on your website, and how many of
those links suffer from problems, so that you may correct them.
