THE EXIM MAIL TRANSFER AGENT

Original Unix code base Copyright (c) 1997 University of Cambridge.
Modifications for OS/2 Copyright (c) 1997 Arkane Systems Ltd.

Exim 1.73 for Unix platforms is distributed under the GNU General
Public Licence, version 2.

It is my intention, and a requirement of the GNU GPL, that this port
of Exim to OS/2 also be distributed under that licence. HOWEVER, at
the present time, this distribution of Exim for OS/2 is not in a
suitable state to be distributed under that licence.

In addition, it is an alpha version of the port, and as such may
contain bugs which might render it unsuitable for widespread use.

Thus, it is intended only for use in closed testing. Please DO NOT
redistribute this version of Exim.

This program is distributed in the hope that it will be useful,
but WITHOUT ANY WARRANTY; without even the implied warranty of
MERCHANTABILITY or FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE.

UNSOLICITED E-MAIL
-----------------

The supply or promotion of Exim for the purpose of sending bulk, unsolicited
e-mail is incompatible with the basic aims of the program, which revolve around
the free provision of a service that enhances the quality of personal
communications. The author of Exim regards indiscriminate mass-mailing as an
antisocial, irresponsible abuse of the Internet.

INCORPORATED CODE
-----------------

Two pieces of external code are included in the Exim distribution.

Regular expressions are supported in the main Exim program and in the
Exim monitor using the freely-distributable PCRE library, copyright
  (c) 1997 University of Cambridge. The source is distributed in the
  directory exim-src/pcre.

RFC 1413 callbacks are supported in the main Exim program using the
libident library made freely available by Peter Eriksson at
  ftp.lysator.liu.se.
