EXPLANATION:

This fix is a change to Central Point Backup included in PC DOS 6.3 on
IBM Personal Computers. The fix changes the media in CPBACKUP.CFG from 720K to
1.44. Since a 1.44 meg drive cannot reliably read or write 720K, it has created
a problem for some customers who have not changed their configuration before
backing up their systems or data files. When backing up data with the media set
for 720K, the diskette is no longer usuable. The diskette has to be
unconditionally formatted before it can be used again.

INSTALLATION:

1. Download " FIXDSKIT.EXE " from the IBM PC Co. BBS to your hard drive.

2. Type, " FIXDSKIT " from the " C: " prompt, or from the specific directory
to which the file was downloaded.

3. To install the fix for Central Point Backup type, " FIXMEDIA " from the
same directory that contains " FIXDSKIT ".

After the fix has been applied, you will see the following message:

*** CHANGES TO CPBACKUP COMPLETE ***

NOTE:

Do not run from the Windows Environment. If you are in windows, close all
applications and exit windows.

If you re-install your DOS 6.3 or CPBACKUP, you will need to apply this fix
again.
