1.0  Introduction

This USBAUDIO.EXE driver package provides you with IBM's most current support
for Universal Serial Bus (USB) digital audio devices on the OS/2 Operating
System.

1.1  The USBAUDIO.EXE file that you received contains the following files
     in a self-extracting compressed format.

	USBAUDIO.TXT	This file that you are reading
	USBAUDIO.SYS	USB Digital Audio Driver
	USBAUDIO.HLP
	USBAUDIO.ICO
	USBUADIO.SCR

	CARDINFO.DLL
	CONTROL.SCR
	GENIN.DLL
	GENINMRI.DLL


2.0  USB-Audio Support

2.1  USB-Audio Installation Instructions
========================================

2.1.1	To use these USB driver files, you must expand the USBAUDIO.EXE file
	into its component files by
        	(a.) opening an OS/2 window and
	        (b.) typing USBAUDIO at the OS/2 command prompt.
     	Once the USBAUDIO.EXE file is expanded, please continue with the
	USB Installation Instructions.

2.1.2	At the OS/2 command prompt, type MINSTALL.

2.1.3	Change the source drive to the subdirectory containing the files
	expanded by USBAUDIO.

2.1.4	Select the USB adapter.

2.1.5	When prompted, select 1 for the number of adapters to install.

2.1.6	If an error occurs, check the MINSTALL.LOG file in the
        \MMOS2\INSTALL subdirectory of the boot drive.

2.1.7	This completes the installation procedure. You must now REBOOT
	you system to initialize the USB digital audio device driver
	support.


2.2 USB-Audio Driver Additional Parameters
==========================================

DEVICE=drive:\MMOS2\USBAUDIO.SYS

       Where drive: is the drive letter of the OS/2 boot partition on your
       system.

PARAMETER 	FUNCTION

  /V		Verbose Mode, displays driver information
		during OS/2 initialization.


2.3  USB-Audio Un-Install Instructions
======================================

2.3.1	At the OS/2 command prompt, type MINSTALL.

2.3.2	Change the source drive to the subdirectory containing the files
        expanded by USBAUDIO.

2.3.3	Select the USB adapter.

2.3.4	When prompted, select 0 for the number of adapters to install.
        This will uninstall USB Digital Audio.

2.3.5	If an error occurs, check the MINSTALL.LOG file in the
        \MMOS2\INSTALL subdirectory of the boot drive.

2.3.6	Safely shut down and then re-boot your system in order to remove
	the USB Digital Audio driver from the system configuration.


2.4 List of Tested USB-Audio

Altec ADA-70 (speaker only)
TELEX H-531 (microphone only)


2.5 Requirements
================

2.5.1  Hardware
OS/2 USB audio driver is developed to support any USB audio device that follows
USB Audio device specifications.

2.5.2  Software
       (a.) USB Basic support
       (b.) MMPM/2

2.6 Dependencies
================

This package contains only USB-Audio driver, in order to use USB-Audio
USB base stack driver package (USBBASIC.EXE) must also be
installed.
