                                PURPOSE OF PROGRAM

AutoPost allows you to give your callers the opportunity to leave a
message to the next caller. This message can be up to 3 lines long, can include
the identity of the caller who posted the message, or it can be an anonymous
message. You can choose the minimum privilege level that is required to leave
a message.

                                 CONFIGURATION

AutoPost is configured with a text file that contains only two lines.
The contents of the first line indicates the minimum security level that a
user needs in order to be allowed to write a message to the next user. This
should be the numeric value of the user class, as entered in the "Level" field
of the ACCESS.CTL file.
The contents of the second line determines whether or not you want the
identity of the caller who posted the message displayed. If you want the REAL
NAME of the caller to be displayed, enter the letter N (in capitals) on line 2.
If you want the writer's ALIAS to be displayed, enter the letter A (in
capitals) on line 2. If you want the posts to be anonymous, leave line 2 blank.

                                  INSTALLATION
Installation of AutoPost is simple: create a subdirectory called DOOR of
your main Maximus directory, and create a subdirectory of DOOR called
AP. Extract all the files into the DOOR\AP directory.
You can have Maximus run the program whenever a user logs on, whenever a
user logs off, or anywhere else within Maximus.

                                   OPERATION
You can run AutoPost either at logon or at logoff. It will create a text
file (name: AUTOPOST.MEC) in a subdirectory of Maximus called DOORS. This file will
contain the message that the user enters. You can display this file wherever
you want within Maximus, as you would for any display file.
Each time a caller enters a new post by means of the AutoPost program,
the previous post will be overwritten.
