HOW TO COMPOSE A SOUNDTRACK ( PART 1 )

A soundtracker can be very difficult to understand for
beginners. You will find in this text some tricks to make(with time)
good soundtracks.
If you have some musical ability you will compose without any
trouble. For others here is some pratical examples of how
to compose music with DT.
First load Methode1.SNG
The first position (the one you can see after loading) is
the base of the rythm (made with the DRUM instrument).
The general speed of the soundtracker is 6(normal speed).
4 lines make a black note (one beat) and 8 lines
make a white note (two beats). To create a tempo with a normal
speed we just put a DRUM on each 8 lines.
Fixing the tempo is important because this sets the time of
the music.
When we have fixed the tempo we can now put in a SNARE.
We can put in the third position a HIT-HAT.
We have now the basic rythm but in usually it's more
easy to begin a tune by writing the melody, and add the rhythm afterwards
The fourth and fifth position contain a BASS (here a techno
bass). The bass is a low instrument which can make
a second melody.In modern music(dance,techno,trance or
garage)it's the main part of the tune.
All the other positions are just variations of the bass. By
using the TOOLS menu and the transposition command you can quickly
do some transposition effects on the bass.
