1 Introduction
The purpose of this document is to provide clear instructions on how to install SATA RAID driver for SUSE93 on Intel ICH5R/6R/7R system.

2 Prepare Installation disk(s)

2.1 Get required driver image files
Driver files are available on the CD that shipped with the product or can be downloaded from http://support.intel.com.

2.2 Create install disk(s)
User requires a system with either Microsoft Windows or a UNIX based Operating System and fresh floppy diskette(s) to prepare the install disk(s). The required Installation Diskettes can be created on any system. Extract the disk image to a floppy disk using rawrite or another image extraction utility.

3 Installation methods
There are different types of installation possible with the installation package provided. Those are explained in different sections.

3.1 Fresh installation
This mode of installation is selected when user needs to install the Operating system on a fresh MegaRAID IDE controller. For this kind of installation driver update disc is used at the starting of the installation and the installer will update the system with MegaRAID driver images for the required kernels. Follow the procedure given below to install MegaRAID IDEal Soft RAID Stack at the time of Installation.

1) Create a RAID array using the MegaRAID IDE BIOS.
2) Boot your system using SUSE93 Disk
3) When first screen come up press F3 key and select installation menu option
4) Insert DUD when it is prompted
5) Proceed with installation As SUSE93 is not updating the Driver and not creating initrd image by itself. So we need to do that manually using script file. Follow following steps carefully to do that.
6) When the Basic installation finishes the system will prepare for initial reboot. This is after installing selected packages from CD, Update Configuration, Copy file to installed system and after installing the boot manager. Before rebooting the system a small window will pop up in which Seconds before rebooting your system displayed. Press STOP button to prevent rebooting the system.
7) Press Ctrl+Alt+F2 and go to directory /Linux/suse/<Knernal version>/install
8) Run script update.post
	#./update.post
                  #./update.post2
9) Press Ctrl+Alt+F7 and select Ok in the Small window that show Now rebooting your system
10) System automatically reboots. Remove all install media to boot to the controller
