==================================================================

DirectX is an integral component of the Windows OS, therefore its
removal isn't recommended.. Should it become absolutely necessary,
DXE can be used to safely uninstall the DirectX runtime component.
DXE supports: Windows 9X, 2000, ME, and Windows XP (all versions).

Release Notes
-------------

Win9X/ME: A pre-uninstall script has been added to detect System
File Protection, giving Windows ME users the ability to uninstall
DirectX with only a single reboot. DirectX Eradicator will disable
File Protection if found to be active; this behavior is by design.

Win2K/XP: The CD rollback feature has been fully integrated into
the uninstall process, and is no longer available as a standalone
option... The uninstall process will require the Windows 2000/XP
CD-ROM and/or the Service Pack files, so have these items handy!!

Known "Issues"
--------------

Win2K/XP: You must be logged on as an Administrator, or a member
of the Administrators' group to use DirectX Eradicator. If you're
running Windows XP, DXE requires that "Cryptographic Services" be
ENABLED, to avoid errors during the rollback phase of uninstall.

Redistribution
--------------

DirectX Eradicator (DXE) is Freeware and is freely distributable
as long as the original distribution archive remains intact with
no files having been added, removed, or altered in anyway, shape
or form. DISCLAIMER: PLEASE BE RESPONSIBLE! USE THIS SOFTWARE AT
YOUR OWN RISK!
