Usage of EPSON BarCode TrueType Font

Note: 
      CD in Font name means Check Digit is added automatically.
      Num in Font name means OCR-B is added automatically.

2. Available Windows: 

Windows 95/98, NT3.51/4.0
(BarCode Printing is not available for Windows 3.1 because Font Rasterizer on Win 3.1 has insufficient
capability to get accurate BarCode Printing).

3. Available Printers

EPSON EPL-5700, EPL-N1600, EPL-N4000, EPL-C8000 and later products
 
When you use EPL-C8000(Color Laser Printer), please select Monochrome Printing mode on Printer Driver setting.

NOTE: In Windows NT4.0, BarCode Printing is not available for 
EPL-C8000

4. Windows Printer Driver

"EPSON EPL-5700 Advanced", "EPSON EPL-N1600 Advanced",
"EPSON EPL-N4000 Advanced", "EPSON EPL-C80000 Advanced"
or later EPSON Printer Driver (EPSON EPL-XXXX Advanced) is recommended.

To print BarCodes using EPSON TrueType BarCode Font, the above printer driver is necessary. Other printer 
drivers will not print Barcodes on the above printers. In this case, printed screen fonts are not actual
Barcodes 

5. Resolution/Printing condition

    	600dpi is recommended.
    	Zoom functions in the Layout Menu of the Driver is not reliable when BarCode printing.
 
6. How to use EPSON TrueType BarCode Font

The EPSON TrueType Font is very similar to other regular TrueType fonts.

6-1. Font Installation

From File Manager or Windows Explorer, select the correct drive and path where EPSON BarCode Font files are 
located and run SETUP.EXE.

6-2. Usage

Usage of the BarCode Font is very similar to regular font handling.

1.	Start the required Windows Application Software.
     	(Most applications are acceptable).
2.	Input the required Numerics or Alphabets for Barcode Printing.
3.	To change the font typeface to BarCode Font
	(Select Target BarCode Font on Font Selection Menu on Application)
4.	Select Font Size
	(If Font Size is smaller than the regulation, BarCode print is
	not achieved. For example, 26point is minimum in Code39.)
5.	The Barcode screen font which is visible type is displayed.
     	This screen font is not the actual barcode.
6.	Select Print
7.	Actual barcode is printed.
    	(EPSON Printer Driver substitutes BarCode screen font for 
     	the actual BarCode automatically at printing stage).
8.	Start bar, Stop bar, Check Digit etc. are automatically added.


 
7. Restrictions

a) 	Character Point Size
     	Minimum size for printing is defined in each regulation.
     	If Character size is less than the above, Printer Driver will not print	barcode.
      The followings are available point size. Bracketed numbers are the recommended sizes for Barcode 
      printing.

b)	BarCode Rotation
	90,180, 270 degrees are available. Other rotation angles are not acceptable.

c)	Character Pitch
      Some applications such as MS Word have the automatic 
      character pitch adjustment function.
      Please turn off such functions when you print BarCodes.

d)	White Space around the BarCode
      The regulation requests you to provide White Space around
      the BarCode. The Printer Driver will provide the White Space
      automatically, although printing will infrequently not match what is on the screen.
