A.R.C.O.S. - INSTRUCTIONS

THE PLOT:

Aliens are invading Earth!!!!..... again...
A group of courageous spacemen has been sent to reject the attack, but the last
chance for mankind is in your hands. You, a brave pilot, has been recluted to
control A.R.C.O.S., the ultra-secret ultimate weapon. Your mission, easy to
understand but hard to achieve: Kill the aliens and save the spacemen. With the
power of A.R.C.O.S. lead us to the victory!!!

HOW TO PLAY A.R.C.O.S.:

To load the game: In Spectrum, type LOAD "" and press Enter. In Amstrad CPC,
type RUN" and press Enter. In MSX, type RUN"CAS: and press Enter. In ZX81, type
LOAD "" and press New Line.

Your mission is to kill all aliens on the screen and save many spacemen as
possible. You control A.R.C.O.S., a spaceship which bounces an energy ball that
destroys everything in its path. If you miss the ball, you lose one life; you
begin with 5 lives.

In addition, A.R.C.O.S. has a laser blast with limited ammo. Initially, you've
got 10 shoots, but you can get extra ammo when you clear a stage, depending on
the number of spacemen you've saved. Use this weapon with caution... it's
limited and it can kill spacemen too.

Controls: In Spectrum, Q - up, A - down and M - fire; you can use Sinclair
Joystick too. In Amstrad CPC, Q - up, A- down and SPACE - fire. In MSX, cursor
keys to move and SPACE to shoot. In ZX81, 1 - up, Q - down and M - fire.

PECULIARITIES OF THE ZX81 VERSION:

A.R.C.O.S. for Spectrum, Amstrad and MSX has 15 stages where you have to kill
12 aliens to reach the next stage. You've got 5 lives and 10 blasts

A.R.C.O.S. for ZX81 has got a few changes to fit on only 4kb! You begin the
game with 3 lifes and 3 blasts, which you can recover them when you clear a
stage. You have to kill 10 aliens to reach the next stage. The number of stages
is unlimited and they are built in a random way. In addtiion, to complicate the
stuff, the ball's bounce is totally random... you're welcome :D
