Upgrading from 2.1.0 to 2.2.0
-----------------------------
--Note that switch software and Linux host drivers are now released and
  packaged seperately.
--The 2.2.0 switch release supports 2.0.0 (or higher) Linux host drivers.
The 2.0.0 Linux host drivers require all switches to be upgraded to at
  least 2.0.0 first.
--2.1.0 and 2.2.0 switch releases can be used in the same IB fabric.
--Topspin switches should be upgraded before the IB hosts.
--To upgrade Element Manager (EM) GUI, first uninstall 2.1.0 and then install
  2.2.0.
--For general information about upgrading to a new software release, see the
Install Software Images section of the Chassis Manager User Guide.

B. Infiniband
---------------

Issues noted with a '*' are either new features, or issues that have been
addressed in this release of the firmware.

*Performance Management
----------------------
--A Performance Management (PM) feature has been added. The PM allows
monitoring of the IB PortCounters attribute for each port in an IB subnet,
generation of traps based on user-configurable thresholds, and clearing
counter values. The monitoring of switch ports is distributed among switches
  for increased scalability.

*1x IB
-----
--IB ports can now be configured for 1x link width (2.5Gbps), 4x link width
(10Gbps), or auto negotiation. If auto negotiation is selected, the port
will come up either 1x or 4x. If auto negotiation is not selected, and the
port can not come up at the selected speed, it will not come up at all. If
all 3 ports of an adjacent group (e.g. 1-3 or 7-9) have auto negotiation
selected, then they can also be grouped together as a single 12xport. If the
first port of an adjacent group does not have auto negotiation selected, and
has 12x speed selected, then the group of 3 will only come up as a single
  12x port.

*Attempting To Start Second IB Subnet Manager Fails
-----------------------------------------------------
--Attempting to start a second IB subnet manager now correctly displays the
  correct error message.

*Stopping Then Restarting IB Subnet Manager Causes CLI/GUI To Be In Error
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
--Stopping and then restarting the IB subnet manager no longer causes the
CLI/GUI to temporarily display that no IB subnet manager is running.

C. Management
---------------

*Additional POST
----------------
--Additional POST (power-on self test) checking has been added, as well as
the ability to display the POST results.

*FRU Identification
-------------------
--Additional diagnostics to identify FRUs(Field Replaceable Units) have been
  added.

*Improved Card Diagnostics
--------------------------
--Card test diagnostics are now improved.

*Element Manager And Chassis Manager Display The Power Supply Cords Reversed
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
--The Element Manager GUI and Chassis Manager Web GUI now correctly display
the power supply cords on the HP 24-Port 4x Fabric Copper Switch.

*Improved Element Manager Support for Large IB Fabrics
------------------------------------------------------
--Element Manager now supports larger IB fabrics with hundreds of IB switch
  chips.

Power Loss During Image Upgrade Can Cause Switch To Not Reboot Correctly
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
--If power is lost while the system image is being upgraded, the HP 24-Port
4x Fabric Copper Switch may not reboot correctly. The workaround is to put
the switch on a UPS while it is being upgraded.

Ethernet Management Port Only Supports 100/FDX
---------------------------------------------------
--The Ethernet management port (interface mgmt-ethernet) only supports
  100Base-T, full-duplex connectivity.

Failed Firmware Upgrades Do Not Show Errors In CLI
----------------------------------------------------
--If a firmware upgrade fails, the CLI does not report why the failure
occurred. The workaround is to use the "show logging end" command to review
  the failure.

Cryptic Environmental Error Messages In "Show Logging"
--------------------------------------------------------
--The error messages in "show logging" for environmental monitoring failures,
such as failed power supplies, are cryptic.

Debug Messages Appear In Serial Console
-----------------------------------------
--Debug messages may occasionally appear on the serial console.

No CLI Diganostics Provided If NTP Server Is Not Responding
-------------------------------------------------------------
--The CLI does not provide any diagnostics if the NTP server(s) is not
  responding.

CLI "Reload" Command Prompts Unnecessarily
--------------------------------------------
--The CLI "reload" command will unnecessarily prompt if you wish to save
changes when you execute the CLI command "delete" or "clock set".

EM GUI Will Not Install With Insufficient Space In /tmp
----------------------------------------------------------
--The EM GUI will not install if there is not sufficient temporary space in
  /tmp.

Serial/Mgmt-Ethernet & Maintenance->System Info Windows May Not Appear In GUI
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
--The "Serial/Mgmt-Ethernet" and "Maintenance->System Info" windows in the
GUI may not popup if the GUI has been running for a while.

ALT-TAB Icon On GUI Is Blank In Linux
----------------------------------------
--The ALT-TAB icon for the GUI is blank on Linux.
