1. Introduction

The Compaq Survey Utility is an online information-gathering
agent that runs on Compaq ProLiant servers. It gathers critical
hardware and software information from various sources and saves
it to a text file. This utility was designed to facilitate the
resolution of problems without taking the server off-line, thus
    maximizing server availability.

2. Documentation Updates and Corrections

This section contains information on known errors and omissions
in the "Compaq Survey for Linux" User Guide. The information in
this section is more up-to-date than that in the User Guide.

3. Known Issues

    1) There are some instances with some browsers were all of the icons on
the device home page may not show up. Refresh will sometimes solve
this issue. The viewer should still function correctly.

    2) This update fixes a potential security vulnerability in Compaq
web-enabled management software. Compaq strongly recommends that
you update your software as soon as possible. Compaq management
software running any Web Based Enterprise Management Agent or
Utility that resides on port 2301 can act as generic proxy server.
Internal traffic going out to the Internet can bypass a normal
proxy server filtering by using TCP/IP port 2301 and external traffic
may be able to infiltrate internal networks if there is no additional
        firewall protection.
