                 SETTING THE LP9000 HOST BUS ADAPTER
                  TO USE JUMPER-SELECTED DEVICE IDs

As for the LP6000, the LP7000/LP7000E, and the LP8000, the LP9000 is
designed with jumper blocks to select alternate device IDs, as listed
below in the section "JUMPER DEFINITION."

JUMPER DEFINITION
-----------------

The LP9000 HBA card has two jumper blocks labeled JX1 and JX2, located
at the top left corner. They are defined by the following tables:

JX1
------------------------------------------------------------
1-2 (default)	Jumpers Disabled	Device ID = F900
2-3 Jumpers Enabled Device ID = see JX2

JX2
------------------------------
1-2             Device ID = F901
2-3 (default)   Device ID = 1AE5  (LP6000 DEVICE_ID)

  Example:  F900 = JX1 1-2 ; JX2 2-3 (Factory default)
            F900 = JX1 1-2 ; JX2 1-2
            F901 = JX1 2-3 ; JX2 1-2
            1AE5 = JX1 2-3 ; JX2 2-3

NOTES
-----

o Once the card has been updated, changing firmware with PRG or AWC/AIF
   files will not harm the jumper update.

o Jumper settings are only read on power-up of the LP9000 HBA. Simply
   resetting the HBA will not show a change.

o If there is a problem with the update or the jumpers, the card will
   always revert back to Device ID = F900 and remain operational.
