Installing the tool definition file (TDEF) for HPSIM:

Edit the nnm.xml file and replace "localhost" with the name of your
NNM server.

Copy the nnm.xml file to your Systems Insight Manager server.
Place the file in the \tools subdirectory.

Open a command prompt and change to the HPSIM\tools directory.
Run the mxtool command to load the new tool definition.

"mxtool -a -f nnm.xml"

You will have to close the browser and log back into Systems Insight
Manager to view the new tool menus.

Run mxtool again to remove the tool definition.

"mxtool -r -f nnm.xml"

       mxtool -m [-i] -f filepath
       mxtool -s -f filepath
       mxtool -r -f filepath
       mxtool -r -t toolname ...
       mxtool -r -c category ...

Creating Network Node Manager Events from HP Systems Insight Manager:

Configuring the Network Node Manager server:
1. Copy the hpsimtraps.nnm file to the Network Node Manager server.
2. On the NNM server, run the command xnmevents load hpsimtraps.nnm 
   to load the trap configuration file.

Configuring the Systems Insight Manager server:
1. Install the Network Node Manager Remote Console on the Systems 
   Insight Manager Server.  This provides access to the snmp utilities 
   on the NNM server.
2. Copy the program hpsimnnm.exe to the Systems Insight Manager Server.
3. Create a custom command in Systems Insight Manager for launching 
   hpsimnnm.exe.
4. Create an Automatic Event Handling task to execute the custom command 
   any time a new event is received.
