Installing Rapier 24 under Windows 95:

As Rapier 24 drivers won't install if an extended memory manager is detected on
the system and you can't disable the extended memory manager under Windows 95,
the Rapier drivers have to be installed "manually".

Create a new folder on your hard drive called "Rapier". From the Rapier v1.2.2
installation disk copy the following files into c:\RAPIER:

CONFIG.EXE
DIAGS.EXE
DIAGS.RLM
EXTPRIMS.RLM
RAP512.TIF
RAPIER.CL
README.TXT
TIGACD.EXE
TIGAGM.OUT
ZOOM.EXE
ZOOM.DLL

TIGA.CFG

If you still have your old version of DOS installed you still might have a copy of
TIGA.CFG (in the Rapier directory). Copy TIGA.CFG to your Rapier directory.

TIGA.CFG is a configuration file that is created during the Rapier 24 installation.
It allows you change the display mode and the memory location of Rapier 24. Because
Windows 95 is using an extended memory manager, the memory location can't be changed.
This disk contains all possible configurations of TIGA.CFG
Copy the necessary TIGA.CFG into your RAPIER folder:

First you need to know what I/O address space your Rapier 24 is set to:
(Please refer to the Rapier 24 manual for jumper settings)

0280..028F and 0680..068F: go to the 0280068F directory on this disk.
0290..029F and 0690..069F: go to the 0290069F directory on this disk.
02A0..02AF and 06A0..06AF: go to the 02A006AF directory on this disk.
02B0..02BF and 06B0..06BF: go to the 02B006BF directory on this disk.
02C0..02CF and 06C0..06CF: go to the 02C006CF directory on this disk.
02D0..02DF and 06D0..06DF: go to the 02D006DF directory in this disk.

Memory Location:

If you want to set your Rapier card to a high memory location (above 1MB) go to
the MEMLOCHI subdirectory. Copy the TIGA.CFG file in the subdirectory into C:\Rapier.

Please note that Rapier 24 will only work with Windows 95 when it is set to a high
memory location

If you want to set Rapier 24 to a low memory location (below 1MB), go to the MEMLOCLO
subdirectory. There you have the choices of 5 different segment addresses:

C800-CFFF
D000-D7FF
D800-DFFF
E000-E7FF
E800-EFFF

Choose the required address and copy the relevant TIGA.CFG file to c:\RAPIER.

Display configuration and installation:

Run CONFIG in c:\RAPIER. Because of the extended memory manager you can only change
display settings. If you want to change memory settings or change the I/O address
on your Rapier card you have to copy the relevant TIGA.CFG file from this disk.

Add the following lines to AUTOEXEC.BAT:

SET TIGA=-mc:\RAPIER -lc:\RAPIER -i0x7f
C:\RAPIER\TIGACD.

Restart your computer.
Go into Win95 Control Panel, "Add new hardware". Choose "Display Adapters", insert
the Rapier 24 v1.2.2 drivers into your floppy drive and press "Have disk".
The Rapier 24 Windows drivers are now being installed.
