VideoLogic Patch release 98
---------------------------

GrafixStar 500 BIOS upgrade to stop a possible loss of sync
-----------------------------------------------------------

The problem:

There have been a couple of instances with the GrafixStar 500
where the user has experienced a loss of sync when switching
modes, resulting in the wrong refresh rate being utilised. For
users with low end (low scan rate) monitors this could potentially
cause a loss of picture. This problem has been linked to VLB PC's
and is most likely to be seen on 40MHZ VLB PC's.

Additionally, Users of the DVA 4000 and MediaSpace may experience
problems due to the requirements of specific refresh rates when using
these products.

This .COM file is available that upgrades the BIOS to fix the
problem. The COM file should be ran from the autoexec.bat and works
on the GrafixStar 500 only (it will not install on any other card).

How to install:

Copy the TSR vlgx5upd.com to you hard drive. For example, if you
are using Windows 3.11 you could use the C:\VLPROD sub-directory
(or wherever you installed your GrafixStar 500 drivers). Then add
the following line to the end of your AUTOEXEC.BAT file:

	c:\vlprod\vlgx5upd.com

Every time you boot your PC the TSR will load and prevent the
possibility of the problem occuring.
