AutoCAD ADI 4.1 Protected-Mode Driver

The \PADI41 directory on the WIND/X Utilities/Drivers diskette contains a
protected-mode driver (RCP911.EXP) for AutoCAD Releases 10, 11, and 12.
The \RADI41 directory contains a real-mode driver (RC911.EXP) for AutoCAD
Releases 10 and 11.

TO INSTALL THE DESIRED DRIVER:

1. Insert the WIND/X Utilities/Drivers diskette into drive A:.

2. Copy the desired driver to the AutoCAD directory on your hard drive.
Typically this directory is called \ACAD. For example to install the
     protected-mode driver type:

	COPY A:\PADI41\RCP911.EXP C:\ACAD [Enter]

TO INSTALL THE REAL-MODE DRIVER TYPE:

        COPY A:\RADI41\RC911.EXE C:\ACAD [Enter]

SETTING THE ENVIRONMENT VARIABLE:

For AutoCAD/386 Release 10 set the environment variable to:

	SET DSPADI=C:\ACAD\RCP911.EXP

then run AutoCAD and set the video display device to ADI P386 v4.0 and select
the desired mode from the list in the configuration menu.

For AutoCAD Release 11 and 12

	SET DSPADI=C:\ACAD\RCP911.EXP

then run AutoCAD and set the video display device to ADI P386 v4.0/4.1 and
select the desired mode from the configuration menu.

For AutoShade 2.x

1. set the environment variables in the AUTOEXEC.BAT file as follows:

	SHADE=\SHADE2\RMANSUPT
	DSPADI=\ACAD\RCP911.EXP
	RDPADI=%DSPADI%
	RCPADI=%DSPADI%

then reboot your computer and run Shade from the \SHADE2 directory.

2. Select the pointing device.

3. select P386 Autodesk Device Interface Display Driver.

4. select a mode not marked as Disabled.

5. select P386 Autodesk Device Interface Rendering Driver.

6. select a mode not marked as Disabled then respond "YES" three times.

7. select a rendering hardcopy device then quit and save the configuration.

Autodesk 10/11 ADI 4.1 Real Mode Display List Driver

The Autodesk ADI 4.1 Real-Mode driver is a terminate and stay resident
(TSR) program that must be invoked before AutoCAD Release 10 or Release 11
software will run and utilize the real-mode driver. The driver will accept
certain command line options that will change the behavior of the driver.
These options will allow you to select the resolution for the display and
rendering device, or to install the driver at a different interrupt vector.

DRIVER INSTALLATION

1. Set your default drive and path to the sub-directory where you would
like the WIND/X ADI to reside. This is typically your AutoCAD 10 (or
     11) directory. For example, if you have logged onto your C: drive and
your AutoCAD 10 directory is on the C: drive type:

	CD\ACAD <Enter>

2. Insert the WIND/X Utilities/Driver diskette into drive A:

3. Copy the RC911.EXE file from the A:\RADI41 directory to the \ACAD
directory on your hard disk. Assuming you have installed AutoCAD in
     the \ACAD directory, type:

     COPY A:\RADI41\*.* C:\ACAD<Enter>

4. Invoke the ADICFG program by typing ADICFG <Enter>

ADICFG lets you select the amount of memory allocated to the display list and
to the Autodesk product, as well as choose the interrupt vector used by the
WIND/X ADI and the default background color. To reconfigure the WIND/X ADI
at any time just invoke the ADICFG program.

The ADICFG main menu shows you the total amount of display list memory you
have available, the amount currently unused and the amount currently being
used by the display list. If the WIND/X ADI has not been previously
configured, ADICFG show default values for each type of memory usage, that
will add up to the total amount of display list memory available. To change
the value shown for any menu item, press the number shown to the left of
the item or scroll to the item desired and press <Enter>. A data entry
screen will pop up and you can enter the desired value. When you have
finished modifying the installation parameters press <F10> to save the new
values and exit the configuration program, or <Esc> to exit without saving
the new parameters.

EXECUTION

****** Before Running AutoCAD *****

1. The WIND/X ADI 4.1 is a TSR (Terminate and Stay Resident) program that
should be executed before you invoke the Autodesk application. Change
to the directory where the WIND/X ADI is installed (e.g., C:\ACAD) and
     type:

	RC911 -[Option[Parameters]] <Enter>

Where:

-0x[i] This option installs the driver at interrupt vector 0x10 to 0xFF
(Hex). The default value is 0x7A. If you change the default value
be sure to change the value in SHADE.CFG and in your AutoCAD
         configuration.

-D[n] Selects the Display mode. NOTE - The default mode is 0

-R[n]x Selects Render mode. NOTE - The default mode is 0
Where [n] is one of the following:
[n] Resolution Colors Display Render
0 640x480 256 Y Y
1 800x600 16 Y N
2 800x600 256 Y Y
3 1024x768 16 Y N
4 1024x768 256 Y Y
5 1280x960 16 Y N
6 1280x1024 16 Y N
7 640x480 32K/64K N Y

2. Run AutoCAD and set the display device to "ADI display v4.x" in the
     AutoCAD display device configuration menu.

3. Exit and save the configuration information. Once the WIND/X ADI is
loaded run the Autodesk application as you normally do. No further
user interaction with the driver is required. To automatically execute
the driver each time you power up your system add the full
drive:\path\filename to your AUTOEXEC.BAT file. If the WIND/X ADI
driver is in your ACAD directory add the following lines to your
     AUTOEXEC.BAT file:

     CD\ACAD
     RC911 -[Option[Parameter]]

with the desired options and parameters.
