4. Notes

4.1 Accelerator options

You can configure the ELSA POWERdraft accelerator by using the
ELSA dialog in the MicroStation main menu.

        The following options are available:

            RegenExents
With a regen more than the visual screen can be entered
into the display list. Then the data for panning or zoom out
are ready. The value determines the range as multiples of
the visible screen. With a value of 0, the whole image will
              be entered (default).

            ZoomDepth
As explained under the new command REGEN, the display
accuracy of a display list depends on the zooming level of
a view. With this option you can specify the range you're
typically working in. When you zoom in/out beyond the
zooming range an automatic REGEN for this view is
performed. When you set this parameter to 0 (zero), no
              automatic regen will occur (default).

            StrokeTolerance
As esplained under the new command REGEN (see 4.2.),
the drawing is optimally vectorized into a display list. That
means that no point is more than half a pixel away from it's
true position. With this option you can modify this
optimality criterion. The smaller you set the value of Stroke
Tolerance, the more precise the drawing will be vectorized.
If you are setting for example "0.1", no point will be more
than 0.1 pixel away from it's true position. That means you
can see curved elements longer as curved instead of
polygonal while you are zooming in. Values above 0.5
mean that curved elements are visually more like
polygonals, getting faster REGEN and UPDATE
              operations.

            Enhanced Multi Level Mode
Usually there is one display list per level and view. This
requires an amount of memory and bookkeeping overhead.
When you don't work level oriented or seldom switch
between levels, you can speed up REGEN and REDRAW
operations by up to 10%. But switching of levels results in
              automatic REGENs.
If you turn on this option, the drawing order of the elements
might be changed. This can cause a different appearance
of the drawing. If the this behavier is unwanted, you should
              turn off this option.

------------------------------------------------------------------------
5. Known Problems

Elements with the property "Hole" might be handled the wrong way.
You can see it especially if you use filled elements.

The option "Fast Cells" in the "View Attributes" dialog should be
        deactivated.
