README.TXT (Installation instructions for Video Drivers for
		Microsoft* Windows* 3.11)

1.0 Revision History:
	2 Mar 95: Original Release
	8 Mar 95: Documented S3 DOS utility

2.0 Introduction
This diskette contains the installation program and video drivers for the
onboard video solution of the Advanced System Product. This video drivers
product supports the S3* Trio32* and Trio64* onboard video solution. The
video drivers are for the Microsoft Windows operating system. It also
contains the utility, Galileo*, to change the resolution, color depth and
frequency for the Microsoft Windows video drivers.

3.0 Installation

The installation program is setup.exe. The setup.exe program will
install the video drivers and the utility. The video display will be
configured to 640x480 with 256 colors.

The software files are compressed to conserve space and you cannot copy them
directly to your hard disk; you must use the Setup Program. To install the
Video Driver Software:

	1. Close any open application so only Windows* is running.
	2. Insert the diskette into the diskette drive.
	3. In the Windows Program Manager, choose Run from the File menu.
		The Run dialog box opens.
	4. In the Command Line box, type [Diskette drive name]:\setup and
		click Ok.
	5. After the drivers are loaded onto the system, Windows will be
		restarted.

4.0 Galileo Utility.

The Galileo utility is an applet in the Windows Control Panel. Galileo allows
you to set and change monitor hardware specific options. It also
automatically detects the video device (Trio32 or Trio64) and installs
the correct driver.

5.0 FCON Utility

This program is a DOS utility for the Trio32* and Trio64*. If FCON detects
a Trio32PCI, it enables DAC Snoop (Palette Snoop). If it detects a
Trio64, options are given to enable the feature connector (the DAC Snoop
bit will also be enabled for the Trio64PCI). Note that the valid feature
connector modes are VGA, 640x480 256 colors, and 800x600 256 colors. After
installation, see the FCON.TXT located in the \S3UTIL directory for more
information.
