Disk Image of "BBC Master Welcome & Utilities Disk" (80 Track version)
======================================================================
Created using OmniDisk v2.9
---------------------------

Just acquired a BBC Master 128 and after searching the internet I couldn't find a disk image of the Master Welcome and Utilities disk so I decided to make one for myself. Also included are a brief set of instructions for writing the image back to a disk.

Restoring the disk image

Requirements
------------

OmniDisk (http://www.shlock.u-net.com/Utils/)

A basic understanding of OmniDisk (I recommend reading the text files that come with OmniDisk)

"A PC with a 'standard' Floppy Disk Controller (NEC uPD765-compatible)" (?)
NOT running WinXP as the OS (OmniDisk apparently prefers DOS but I used it in WinME)

A blank 3.5" un-write protected floppy disk (if it is a High-Density Disk you will have to tape up the "High Density" Hole, see http://www.computerhope.com/help/floppy.htm if you are confused about which hole to tape up)

Instructions
------------

1) Copy the Master_W.adl to the directory you have installed OmniDisk.

2) Run OmniDisk

3) Insert the blank disk

4) In OmniDisk type:
			ADFS_L
			FORMAT
			WRITE FROM MASTER_W.ADL

5) You should now have a Welcome Disk that you can use in your BBC Master (Ctrl-A BREAK then CHAIN"WELCOME80" to run the Welcome programs or CHAIN"UTILITIES" to run the Welcome, Programming and ADFS utilities. I don't think the 40 track version (Welcome40) will work due to the way I copied the files from the 5.25" to 3.5" disks and I don't want to connect a 5.25" disk drive to my PC to image the original).

Hope this is of use to someone.
