Subject: xm2wav again

hi again,

In the meantime I've found a programme called ams2wav (atcmnt) and converts
the Velvet Studio files into .wav. It recognizes mod,s3m,xm formats as well
and it just works the way I like it: first it looks at actual .xm-s, states
peak-level( this actually doubles the conversion time, but it assures the .wav
won't be distorted); in the second part it mixes previously measured
amplification values with the actual tune.
The main concept of the programme is perfect, only the wav mixer's improper.
This gives a wav in a very bad quality... :(
With such extention I would just love your programme. :)
I thought of only a little change: for example if introduce an -a switch then
it ignores -vxx switch and traces the tune first then mixes with the measured
amplification.
Such display would be good just like in ams2wav, so that the actual position
could be seen well.
I hope I don't ask for too much. This would be important to me because
I've just found a new publisher here in Hungary (Juice Records) where my
tracked music are to be published. (but in Germany distributed by
UnderCover M.C.)
If you wonder about how my tune sounds you might want to look out
for "Future Sound Of Budapest Vol2" in CD-stores. The tune is the 8th song.
(anorganik - sleeper). I mixed it with fasttrackers wavmixer, but just
like you wrote in xm2wavs documentation it loses some panning values.
If you manage to get this little change done I'll give you two of my outcomming
cds: one out in July and is a single cd, the other is to be published in
October and is LP. You only have to give your real address.
bye!
