--What does AMP need?

 -386sx or better
 -Color display
 -And of course some soundboard!

--What is AMP?

AMP (Advanced Module Player) is a digital music player that play many types
of Amiga style music modules. It support MODs (original Amiga style
modules), NSTs (Noise Tracker modules), STMs (Scream Tracker modules),
SM3s (new type of Scream Tracker modules) and AMFs (module type of DSMI
programming interface). AMP support 1-8 channels in same module.

AMP support SB (Pro/16), PAS (+/16), Aria, Windows Sound System and Gravis
Ultrasound soundboards. Because AMP is created as a practice on a pc with
a Sound Blaster soundboard I was unable test it with all soundboards I listed
above. If some soundboard doesn't work with AMP, write to me and I try to fix
it to the new version of AMP.

--How to use AMP?

 AMP [file name] [options]

File name is name and path of the module. If the module is in the current
directory you haven't to give a path to the directory where module is.

 Options:

/Q or /q Use quality mode on 8 bit soundcards.
/Sn or /sn Use sampling rate n (in Herzt). If not given AMP
               use 44 kHz.

No other command line options used in this version of AMP. If no options
specified, AMP use options listed in AMP.INI.

Now if module is correct, AMP should load it to memory and start play it in
a loop. If AMP didn't found the module or if the module was corrupted AMP
give an error message and return to dos.

If everything was right, AMP should draw on screen a two box. In the box at
the top part of screen are commands that AMP understand. In the box at the
lower part of screen are information of the module and soundboard.

There is a simulated "VU-Bar" for each channel (1-8), a master volume meter,
module's name and so on. Simulated "VU-Bars" are there only because they
look nice (and every other module player got them too). B-).

When you want to quit from the AMP, press q and AMP will return back to the
 dos.

--Playing many modules with one command

AMP can play more than one module with only one command. You must only
create text file in ascii format (look below correct syntax for text file)
and start AMP with this syntax:

 AMP [@file name] [options]

File name is name and path of text file where names of the modules to be
 loaded are.

 Syntax of text file:

 n Number of modules
name Name and path of the first module
name Name and path of the second module
 ...

 Look example.lst for example.

--AMP.INI

When AMP starts, it load custom setup information (colors etc.) from AMP.INI
file. AMP.INI MUST be in same directory as AMP. You can edit AMP.INI with
some text editor (example Edit). Please do NOT remove example rows! :-).

--AMPs great history

Version 1.00: First release of AMP. Created as practice and so it wasn't
best module player in the world.

Version 1.10: Gravis Ultrasound (GUS) support now added! Also I did add
some little things like information about used soundboard.

Version 2.00: Many new things added. Support to playing many modules with
one command. Simulated "VU-Bars" added too.

Version 2.10: Added AMP.INI file for custom setup. Some little changes in
               documents and so, too.

Version 2.11: Updated support.txt file, nothing else.

 No other releases.
