PC/X-Magazine is free for everyone and spreading is encouraged. If you
want to have a printed copy of the current issue (or from prior
issues), call our BBS and post a message to us so we can work some-
  thing out.

We will try to make this a very interesting zine with all kinds of in-
formation that's usefull for (almost) anyone running PC-Express(c).
Besides this textfile we incorporate much more in the archives that we
make such as a list of all the BBS's in the world that are using PC-
Express(c) (registered and unregistered), a source file for an utility
that someone has coded (and one that works :-)), some ANSI- & ASCII-
  texts, a vote sheet etc.

In the magazine itself we'll try to hold on to the following contents:

  a) General information,
  b) What's in the archive that you've got (downloaded),
  c) Editorial section,
  d) Other information,
  e) New things, bugs and idea's,
  f) Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ's),
  g) Short story (optional),
  h) Source section (MugSHot),
  i) Tool reports,
  j) Released utilities / tools to be coded,
  k) Registrations and changes (November),
  l) How to register your copy of PC-Express,
  m) Distributors of this zine,
  n) End notes.

We'll do much be we can't do it alone; if you have a source-file that
you want to share with others so that they too can learn to code, if
you have a textfile with important information, if you have an addi-
tion to the list with (un-)registered BBS's in your country etc.
please give it to one the people that is able to incorporate it in the
next issue of the magazine. We all must try to make this zine interes-
  ting for us all.

When you want to contact the author with submissions, your vote, com-
plaints, idea's etc. write a message to one of the above mentioned In-
ternet addresses, call our BBS or mail us at the following address:

      : . . | In this issue the WhatsNew.doc for TheTag v1.20 is
. : incorporated so that you can see what we're doing
. at the moment and why we've not yet released it.
There are still some options that need to be incor-
porated like the add - and remove comments to the DirX.txt and a fully
  working nuker.

Later on in the issue you'll find a part which describes the installa-
tion of zyrion into the BBS. I thought that once and for all everyone
one should be able to correctly install protocols like Hydra, HS-Link,
Zyrion & External z-modem into PC-Express(c). That is why GOD HiMSELF!
decided to write down how to install ZYRiON into the BBS; the descrip-
tion on how to install other protocols have been mentioned before.

We don't stop, there's a new PC-Express(c) Support Site in Canada too!
The SysOp is called FUKEN^GRUVEN and his BBS is called PLAGUE. Give
him a call on his two node BBS; the telephone numbers are 905-727-9438
  and 905-727-9439.

For those who are interested in coding, MugSHot has updated his pkDIRx
unit and this update is also in this issue; some explanation about the
update is written down at the "source-section".

  -2- Installing ZYRiON into PC-Express(c).
      ------------------------------------
Voila, here you go! Here's how i've installed the Zyrion protocol
with success on my bbs. I used version 4.60F, cauze the beta of
version 4.80F wouldn't work on my pc. Zyrion 4.80F will be a bi-
directional protocol. Version 4.60F is still a single-directional
protocol, but veeeeeeeeery fast. A cps of 3730 is normal with my
      standard 28800 modem!

This is my batchfile for uploads, the Zyrion-files are in the bbs
      directory:

      ---( Begin )-------------------------

      @ECHO OFF
      SET ZSE=C:\BBS
      SET ZRLOG=C:\BBS\DSZ0.LOG
      SET LOCK_COM1=57600,8
      C:
      CD \BBS
      IF EXIST %DSZLOG% ERASE %DSZLOG% >NUL
      ZYRION.EXE RD -P1 -C57600 %3
      DSZ-TOLK 0 S R 5500 3000

      ---( End )---------------------------

      Explanation of the lines above:

      - @ECHO OFF sets of the echo :)
      - SET ZSE is for telling Zyrion where to find the Zyrionfiles!
      - SET ZRLOG is the name of the log which has to be created! The
curious thing of that log is that it always creates two lines of
every transfer. The first one is an error line and has no effect
        of the users account!
      - SET LOCK_COMx tells Zyrion how the lock comm x. Do NOT forget to
change 'x' if you have your modem on another commport!
Extra note: These three SET commands can better be placed in
your AUTOEXEC batchfile if you don't want the "Onvoldoende ge-
        heugen in werkomgeving"- message!
      - Next two lines are for swapping to the bbs directory (standard
        stuff)!
      - The next line deletes a DSZx.LOG file if it exists. This is im-
portant cauze if there is still a DSZx.LOG file in the direc-
tory, the user's account isn't updated correctly!
      - The next line starts Zyrion with the right syntaxes for uploads
(RD). -Px is used for the comport of your modem. -Cx is used for
the used speed (DTE) and this has to be the same as the SET LOCK
_COMx-option! %3 is the directory where the uploads are placed
        (PLAYPEN).
      - The last line starts a DSZx.LOG converter so that pc/x under-
stands what happend during the filetransfer. Please use the file
        inside CT-DT160.ZIP for it!

This is the batchfile for the downloads:

      ---( Begin )--------------------------------

      @ECHO OFF
      SET ZSE=C:\BBS
      SET ZRLOG=C:\BBS\DSZ0.LOG
      SET LOCK_COM1=57600,8
      C:
      CD\BBS
      IF EXIST %DSZLOG% ERASE %DSZLOG% >NUL
      ZYRION.EXE SD -P1 -C57600 @C:\BBS\PCESEND.%1
      DSZ-TOLK 0 S R 5500 3000

      ---( End )----------------------------------

As you can see only the second last line is different! The SD op-
tion is for downloads from your bbs. -Px again is for the comport
of your modem. -Cx is for the DTE and @C:\BBS\PCESEND.%1 tells Zy-
rion to send the files mentioned in the PCESEND-file!

As you can see, installing Zyrion isn't a pain in the ass. The big
trouble with Zyrion is when it hangs. Reseting seems to be the on-
ly option then. I use a tool AUTOBOOT too to solve this problem
(Zyrion doesn't hang a lot, but sometimes due to user-errors), but
i'm still experimenting a bit with AUTOBOOT, cauze the docs are
full with very technical info which i do not understand 100% -:)

                                     .

   f. Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ's) //
 - -------------------------------------//- -

Q: Will PC-Express be going to support networks like Fidonet in the
     future?

A: Yes. In PC-Express v1.3 we hope that we have replaced the current
message-base with JAM-base so that besides our own network other
mail/file networks like Fidonet can be incorporated too.

Q: I see many errors occur when I start v1.20demo, for example when
PC/X asks for the handle and location/group; why is that?

A: PC-Express v1.20 works with language files. Many users say that the
language files are not incorporated in the pc/x-archive, but they
are! Take a look at the archive "pce00000.003". Inside that archive
are 4 files which form the English language. Place them in your
textpath (e.g. c:\bbs\node0). Next, take care of the fact that the
English language is correctly installed in the config.exe. When you
now start pc/x, you don't see these errors anymore.

Q: Are there any ftp-sites where we can download pc/x tools?

A: I don't know any ftp sites that hold tools for pc/x. Maybe in the
future some big servers could have a directory for these tools and
one or more newsgroups could be started, but for now almost no in-
formation concerning pc/x is available on The Internet.

 : ! : Fixed a bug in the bulletins :
 )---+---------------------------------------------------------------------(
: + : In the Config.exe is a new option where you can enable or disable :
: : the auto-comment that a user has to send when calling your BBS :
 )---+---------------------------------------------------------------------(
 : + : There is a new option in the Config.exe with which you're able to :
: : define the maximum days after which the user has to change his/her :
: : password; if the number is set to "0", the option is disabled :
 )---+---------------------------------------------------------------------(
 : + : PC-Express(c) now supports voice-connects. If pc/x located a voice- :
 : : connect, it'll start a batchfile called "VoiceX.bat", where "X" is :
 : : the Node-number. With this option it's possible to start a voice- :
 : : mailbox :
 )---+---------------------------------------------------------------------(
: + : If an uploaded archive has no file_id.diz (and if you have enabled :
: : the option in the Config.exe), pc/x asks whether the description :
: : that the user writes should be incorporated as a file_id.diz into :
 : : the archive. PC-Express(c) supports the following archive-types: :
 : : ZIP/LHA/LZH/ARJ/DMS/ARC/PAK. If the user enters (y)es, pc/x calls :
: : the batchfile "Pack_Diz.bat", with which you're able to inset the :
 : : File_Id.diz into the archive. PC-Express(c) will add the beneath :
: : mentioned variables to this batchfile: :
 : : :
 : : %1 = Extension of the archive (e.g. .zip) :
 : : %2 = File_Id.diz, including path :
 : : %3 = Archive, including path :
 : : %4 = The Node-number :
 )---+---------------------------------------------------------------------(
 : ! : Fixed a small bug in the NoWanted.txt routine :
 )---+---------------------------------------------------------------------(
: + : Added a new variable called %4 when using an external protocol; :
: : this is the upload path (a request from MuHaDiB) :
 )---+---------------------------------------------------------------------(
: + : Added an option in the Config.exe program with which you can allow :
: : the same user to be on more then 1 node at the same time :
 )---+---------------------------------------------------------------------(
: ! : Fixed a bug in the usereditor (week and month statistics one field :
 : : longer) :
 )---+---------------------------------------------------------------------(
: + : Fixed the swap routine; now it swaps to EMS/XMS/Disk :
 )---+---------------------------------------------------------------------(
: + : Added a new MCI code called @PAUSE@. If you call this MCI code pc/x :
 : : will wait for a <space> :
 )---+---------------------------------------------------------------------(
: ! : Tried to fix some bugs in the Event-routine, i hope it works better :
 : : now :
 )---+---------------------------------------------------------------------(
: + : In the prior versions, when you pressed "HOME", pc/x started the :
 : : batchfile called "Terminal.bat". From now on, pc/x will execute a :
 : : batchfile called "TermX.bat", where "X" is the Node-number. In :
: : this way it's easier to create batchfiles for each node :
 )---+---------------------------------------------------------------------(
: + : During the download the SysOp can see the current file number and :
: : the total number of files in the big transfer window :
 )---+---------------------------------------------------------------------(
 : ! : If you uploaded a dupe, pc/x moved the file into the HOLD-directory :
: : but posted the description into the file listing of the upload di- :
: : rectory; this is solved now (thanks to MuHaDiB) :
 )---+---------------------------------------------------------------------(
 : + : Updated my APRO library from v2.01 to v2.03 :
 )---+---------------------------------------------------------------------(
 : + : PC-Express(c) has a search routine to search for a string in the :
 : : message-base. With the "rs"-command (read-search) you can enable :
: : this function. You can choose whether to look in the message hea- :
: : ders, message bodies or both. PC-Express(c) wil search for the gi- :
: : ven string in all the messages that exist in this conference :
 )---+---------------------------------------------------------------------(
: + : PC-Express(c) has a new waiting screen; in this screen the current :
: : time and date are inserted and pc/x also shows how many faxes are :
 : : received :
 )---+---------------------------------------------------------------------(
 : ! : Small fixes and improvements at the system-detection routine :
 )---+---------------------------------------------------------------------(
: ! : Fixed the time-stamp bug (only at archives pc/x sets the new date!) :
 )---+---------------------------------------------------------------------(
 : ! : Fixed a bug in the dupe-check routine during the upload :
 )---+---------------------------------------------------------------------(
 : ! : PC-Express(c) crashed when it read the File_Id.diz of an archive :
 : : when this File_Id.diz was read-only or hidden; it's fixed now :
 )---+---------------------------------------------------------------------(
: ! : When you wanted to reserve the BBS for a special user, pc/x crashed :
: : with a runtime error 103. This was a realy lame bug but it took me :
 : : hours to find it :
 )---+---------------------------------------------------------------------(
: + : Made in improvement in the message-base; now the user has the pos- :
: : sibility to send a (c)arbon (c)opy to another user. You can enable :
: : or disable this new function in the Config.exe program (thanks to :
 : : The Doctor) :
 )---+---------------------------------------------------------------------(
 : ! : PC-Express(c) crashed when a user checked a file-directory (e.g. :
 : : F H) and there was no file listing available (pc/x crashed with a :
: : runtime error 103); this is fixed now :
 )---+---------------------------------------------------------------------(
: + : PC-Express(c) now reads and writes the dropfile when you start the :
: : batches "Check.bat" and "Extdiz.bat" and it also gives the Node- :
 : : number to these batches. In "Check.bat", the Node-number is "%6" :
 : : and in "Extdiz.bat" the Node-number is "%4" (thanks to GOD HiMSELF) :
 )---+---------------------------------------------------------------------(
: ! : PC-Express(c) never really supported the external full screen edi- :
: : tor because you could enter it in the Config.exe to allow the users :
: : to choose it (via the "w"-command), but pc/x nver started an exter- :
: : nal editor (HE SKY STORM & LARIC, what did you do?). From now on, :
 : : pc/x calls the external program "EXT_EDIT.EXE". When a user chooses :
: : to work with this editor, pc/x gives parameters for this program: :
 : : :
 :   : -Nx     (X := Node-number)                                          :
 :   : -Cx     (X := Conference-number)                                    :
 : : -Rx (if you reply a mail X it's the msg-number of the reply) :
: : -S (if the User chooses the 'C' command to enter a mail) :
 : : /Local (if it's a local connection) :
 )---+---------------------------------------------------------------------(
: + : Made an option in the Config.exe in which you can define whether or :
: : not using wildcards at the LogOn-procedure and when entering mail :
: : (some users asked for this option to protect against hackers) :
 )---+---------------------------------------------------------------------(
: + : Improvements made with the "WHO"-command (much more status). Here :
 : : is a full new list: :

 )---+---------------------------------------------------------------------(
 : + : Made small improvements in the "Open"-command :
 )---+---------------------------------------------------------------------(
: + : The user is able to choose (via the "w"-command) between two kinds :
: : of Global Mail Scan; the first one (the default one) is the origi- :
: : nal pc/x mail scan, the second one is the /X like mail scan (thanks :
 : : to The Doctor) :
 )---+---------------------------------------------------------------------(
 : ! : Fixed a bug in the MCI-code section :
 )---+---------------------------------------------------------------------(
: + : The SysOp is able to enter an own string in the Config.exe program :
 : : (e.g. "greetings from .\\ichael) and when pressing CTRL+F6 this :
: : string is displayed. In this way the SysOp doesn't always have to :
: : type this string when writing a message :
 )---+---------------------------------------------------------------------(
: + : Made an option in the Config.exe with which you can define, when a :
: : Global New Files Scan is made, to search in all the directories or :
: : just in the upload directories :
 )---+---------------------------------------------------------------------(
: + : Rewritten the upload routine; now the internal z-modem protocol is :
: : extracted from pc/x and has become a stand alone program. This sa- :
: : ves much memory and transfers with more then 50 files are possible :
 )---+---------------------------------------------------------------------(
: ! : Fixed a bug in writing the LastCall.dat, it rised and rised; now :
: : there are just 100 entries as how it should be :
 )---+---------------------------------------------------------------------(
: + : Added a few commands while the user is browsing through the file- :
 : : list: :
 : : :
 : : Z = Zippy-search :
 : : D = Ends the scanning and starts the download :
 : : V = View a text file :
 : : G = Download a full filelist (this command creates a full filelist :
: : and the user can download it) :
 : : A = If you have a door called "AV" for Archive View, pc/x allows :
: : you to start the door in the filelist :
 )---+---------------------------------------------------------------------(
 : + : When browsing through the file-listings, pc/x now shows a "%" which :
 : : shows the position in the file-listing :
 )---+---------------------------------------------------------------------(
: + : Inserted a new command called "rz" with which the user can upload :
 : : immediatly and pc/x doesn't show Upload.a* or asks for filenames :
: : and the protocol being used; pc/x will take the selected ones (re- :
 : : quest from Caligula) :
 )---+---------------------------------------------------------------------(
: + : Rewritten the download routine; now the internal z-modem protocol :
: : is extracted from pc/x and has become a stand alone program. This :
: : saves much memory and transfers with more then 50 files are possi- :
 : : ble :
 )---+---------------------------------------------------------------------(
 : + : Rewritten the flag-database; now you're able to flag 65000 files :
: : and download them in one time! PC-Express stores the data in a file :
: : and not in the memory :
 )---+---------------------------------------------------------------------(
: ! : Fixed a display bug in the statusline (sec. lvl) (thanks to The :
 : : Doctor) :
 )---+---------------------------------------------------------------------(
 : ! : Changed the "(C)hange protocol" into "(P)rotocol change (done for :
 : : Caligula) :
 )---+---------------------------------------------------------------------(
: ! : PC-Express now takes the baudrate from the dropfile (thanks to :
 : : MugSHot) :
 )---+---------------------------------------------------------------------(
 : ! : From now on, all .ans/.asc files support multi-language too! This :
: : means that if the user wants to view e.g. bull 1 and this user has :
 : : selected language number two, pc/x first checks if there's a file :
: : called bull1.an1. If it exists, pc/x shows this file, if it doesn't :
: : exist, pc/x will show bull1.ans. The same goes for viewing ASCII :
 : : files :
 )---+---------------------------------------------------------------------(
 : ! : Small bugfixes and improvements in the file-flag routine :
 )---+---------------------------------------------------------------------(
: ! : Fixed a bug in the language routines (now pc/x will show the Eng- :
: : lish (language 1) words if it cannot find the right language words) :
 )---+---------------------------------------------------------------------(
 : + : Small code optimizings :
 )---+---------------------------------------------------------------------(
 : + : Now there's a Users.dat packer included in the User Editor that'll :
: : delete all users from the .dat file that have the "deleted"-flag :
 : : and don't have the flag "NoKill" :
 )---+---------------------------------------------------------------------(
: ! : At rewriting the messagebase, I have solved (I hope) all sharing :
 : : problems at the multi-node BBS :
 )---+---------------------------------------------------------------------(
: ! : From now on pc/x only saves the filename when attaching a file to a :
: : message and not the full path. PC-Express(c) will search in all :
 : : file-listings when attaching a file :
 )---+---------------------------------------------------------------------(
: + : We have rewritten the whole messagebase; from now on the format of :
: : the messagebase is 100% compatible to JAM. Hence it appears that :
 : : netmail has become possible :
 )---+---------------------------------------------------------------------(
 : ! : Fixed a strange bug that, when joining a conference in pc/x, pc/x :
: : always showed a strange number as highest message :
 )---+---------------------------------------------------------------------(
 : ! : Hopefully fixed the 24000 baud connect bug :

     {-Allround PC-Express DIRX.TXT file handling.}

A small summary what the pkDIRX unit can do:

 - Reads dirx files from start to end (normal listing) or from end to
   start (reverse listing).
 - Real reverse reading together with text file positioning it makes
   this unit quite fast.
 - Searching dirx entries for keywords or filenames with wildcards.
 - Searching dirx entries on a specific date or a number of days old.
 - Jumping withing dirx files.
 - Output of an 'animation' while reading dirx files.
 - Support for CD-ROM conferences.

Hello and welcome again to the source section of the PC-Express(c) Ma-
gazine, lately I haven't written much comments here mainly because I
didn't have the time (busy coding all the time) and was doing much work
on my latest door TheTag, which -if you are interested- has gotten much
 better.

But now I have taken up the keyboard once again to blab a bit about the
sources placed here. Last month I gave the first public source of my
pkDIRX unit to The Doctor, since that first public release I have made
some minor changes, the first one was a small memory leak in the pkdir-
xgetentry function, I forgot to close the dirx file at a certain place,
I don't think that error should cause large problems also because of
the fact that I have used the dirx source in TheTags 1.00 and 1.05 and
have not gotten any bomb letters about memory leaks.

The second change is that in the dirxrecord is a new longinteger called
'lastpos' (for the dutch readers: niet LASTPOST..ahum) 'lastpos' is the
last position (in bytes) of a DIRX.TXT file that was read by the dirx
unit. The last position of a dirx file WAS saved in a variable in the
dirx unit but the reason that variable is in the dirxrecord now is that
it should be possible to read 1 or more dirx files at the same time.
That is now possible, for instance the option g[L]obal flag in TheTag
needs to use the same dirx file twice, once for the filelisting the
user is currently viewing and once to do a global flag of the chosen
 area.

The third change is that the dirxrecord now must be accessed by dirx-
recptr a pointer. Pointers should always be used when working with se-
veral records or when dealing with large records. This change was also
neccesary to prevent memory errors when using multiple dirx files.

The fourth change was a bug fix, if the dirx unit was in a reverse lis-
ting and if a file didn't have a description the dirx unit would be
 stuck in a cycle.

Fifth and last change is a bug fix in the keyword scan routine, a small
part of a string that had the keyword that was searched for could be
 lost.

The sources as you might know are from now on placed in the \SOURCE di-
rectory so get it from there if you want to make a door/tool that needs
 to read a dirx file.

Improvements and/or bug reports should be placed on X-TReME BBS.

Okay guys and girls, a new month. We start with reviewing a door from
the German doctor who restarted TOXiC after being to only active mem-
ber in iNFLUENCE. He coded a Sent-By string editor for PC-Express(c)
  v1.20+ with some extra features.

The best way to install it into your BBS is by creating a door called
"sent" (the string "sent" is also used on other systems). The user has
a maximum of five Sent-By strings to choose from, strings which can be
changed, deleted etc. All the data is saved in a file called TXC_SENT.
DAT, which is located in the directory where the program files are
  stored (e.g. c:\BBS).

TXC_SP10.exe is compiled with PC/XKiT v2.66. It sometimes uses hotkeys
and at other times the user must press <enter> after typing an option.
DOC HOLiDAY provides a sufficient documentation in order to install it
correctly into every PC-Express(c) BBS. The batchfile "Sent.bat" is
  also present in the archive.

People that need help with this tool can press "h" and get a help-menu
where all the keys and their functions are mentioned. The user can
  press:

  - Q (or ESC) to abort the door and go back to the BBS-prompt,
  - 1 for writing one or more Sent-By strings,
  - 2 for viewing the Sent-By strings,
  - 3 for changing the actual string,
  - 4 for deleting one or more Sent-By strings,
  - H which provides online-help and
  - S to save the data.

The menu-ANSI/ASCII and help-ANSI/ASCII are external in order to pro-
vide more adaption to your BBS, but take care of the coordinates the
  program uses.

I have a few small remarks on this tool:

When entering a Sent-By string, you MUST use CAPITALS, normal charac-
ters are NOT possible. Why is that?

When a user deletes a string, e.g. string 4, move the strings. Now
  there's a "hole" in the string-database:

This is string 1 This is string 1
This is string 2 This is string 2
This is string 3 This is string 3
  This is string 4 <-- delete string 4 ------>                  <-- move
This is string 5 This is string 5 5 to 4

There are some VERY small mistakes made in TXC_SP10.ANS but who cares.

Conclusion: Very nice Sent-By editor, worth installing.

HOUlQ delivers 2 tools that convert a Files.BBS to a DirX.txt and vice
versa. The first converter is called BBS2TXT.exe and converts a Files.
BBS used with proboard (also with other Bulletin Board Systems) to a
DirX.txt that PC-Express(c) uses. The other converter is named TXT2BBS
.exe and converts it the other way around. You have to execute the 1st
  converter in the following way:

  BBS2TXT.exe <path\files.bbs> <path\dirx.txt> <date>, e.g.
  BBS2TXT.exe c:\temp\files.bbs c:\temp\dir1.txt 032596
                                                (mmddyy)

  And the other converter:

  TXT2BBS.exe <path\dirX.txt> <path\files.bbs>, e.g.
  TXT2BBS.exe c:\temp3\dir1.txt c:\temp3\files.bbs

  An example output:

  DirX.txt:

The converters do their work okay. There is not much to say about the

  ---( Begin )----------------------------------------------------------

Jonte (Evolver BBS) coded two converters that will make a Door.sys and
  DorInfo.def out of the PC-Express(c) dropfile PCEDoor.daX (where "X"
is the Node-number). There are already a few tools that do the same,
but apparently Jonte had to make his own.

The programs are called PCE2DWC.exe which converts the PC-Express(c)
dropfile to Door.sys and PCE2DRA.exe which converts it to DorInfo.def.
The programs are compiled with PCEKiT v2.66. Jonte delivers a very
small documentation with it. The programs search in the BBS-directory
and then convert PCEDoor.daX to the desired format.

The 1st converter called PCE2DWC.exe works okay. I compared the output
file from this tool with the Door.sys from DoorConv.exe made by Mi-
chael and there are quite a few differences, maybe you should contact
  each other about that.

Then the 2nd tool. When converting, remember two things:

  + It is not DorInfo.def but there's a node-number after the "DorInfo",
+ The Node-number to use is <pc-express(c)_node-number>+1, so for node
0 create the file "DorInfo1.def" (I know, Michael makes the same
mistake with his tool PCE-DC08.ZIP :-).

I was not able to test the second program called "pce2dra.exe" because
it gave a run-time error every time I tried to start it! The 1st pro-
  program, however, works fine.

make a file called DRV-IMS.CFG (no sample file is provided) and add
something like in the next example:

  ---( Begin )-------

  c:\temp\text.asc
  reefa

  ---( End )---------

This means that the contents from "text.asc" which can be found in the
directory c:\temp will be shown to "reefa" and "sunny". When the con-
tents of the file is displayed on the screen, the program shows the
sentence "Press ENTER to continue with PC-Express".

If there were no messages for a certain user, the program shows the
sentence "No messages from DRV-IMS where waiting for @USERNAME@" (may-
be this had better not been coded). The program can handles ASCII- and
ANSI-files. It works relatively fast by which we mean that the user
experiences almost no delay when calling your BBS when you have this

the SysOp gets as much information as possible about the activities of

Start this tool from the "j.bat" like this:

in which the SysOp can define the files to be viewed e.g.:

  PCE.ANS
  WHQ.ANS

  ---( End )---

Besides that Disp.exe needs a .ini file where the SysOp can define o-

  ---( Begin )-------------------------

  [ DiSPLAY BaR ]

  2ND^CoL.: 7 <----------------------------- colour for 2nd+3rd letters
