The purpose of this beta test program is to test PCBoard v15.2, PPLC
v3.0, and PCBMail v1.0 in a variety of installations with different
hardware and software configurations and by SysOps with differing levels
of PCBoard experience.

Alpha testing is going well and we are now ready to begin Beta Testing.
We will begin with a Closed Beta Test, which is scheduled to begin on
July 12, 1994. Wide Area Beta Testing, which is open to all interested
PCBoard SysOps, is scheduled to begin some time early in August, 1994.
We expect to release PCBoard v15.2 around the end of August, 1994.

If you wish to participate in the Closed Beta Test program, you must
complete and submit the following Beta Test Application no later than
noon on Monday, July 11, 1994. To submit your application, call Salt
Air and leave a private message addressed to BETA TEST with a subject of
COMPLETED APPLICATION and upload the completed application into that
message.

Those wishing to participate in either beta test should ensure that
their PCBoard D/L Access is current through the end of August.

Highlights of this release include: Built-in Internet-UUCP (including
long conference names). Built-in FIDO mail handling (no front-end
needed). Enhanced .QWK networking with Net Status and File Attachments.
PCBoard Mail Manager for Microsoft Windows (PCBMail) - a true MS Windows
Email Client for PCBoard. PCBFiler with unlimited file size handling
and rules-based automated file classification and moving, deferred file
maintenance and more. Credit Accounting for charging (or rewarding) for
each activity on the BBS in money (local currency) or credit units -
even handles on- peak and off-peak hours and holidays. Direct dBASE III
file access (DBF and NDX) from PPL programs. User Defined Procedures
and Functions in PPL programs. Ability to run PPE's stand-alone and in
events (no need to log into PCBoard first). Expanded user base support
for up to 2 billion users.
