LEMM sez...
~~~~~~~~~~~
This musicdisk is the culmination of several months' workin and includes
no less than FOUR competition entries (!@#$%#%!#@$%#@!$%), only one of
which did well and that one wasn't even mine. d0e!@ (Ahem. :) ) It is Mach
One's debut release and as such should feature several high-quality
releases, so with me involved... well, you can always pretend, I guess. :}
There's no interface!! WTF?!?@!#!?@%!$#%@#?$
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
No, there's no interface, and here's three good reasons why not... :)

1. Interfaces delay the release of the musicdisk
   ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I've seen this happen on numerous occasions. Blackwolf's 9x10 musicdisk
ended up being released without an interface, as did Darkwolf's Resonance
musicdisk. And Bass Productions' last-project-that-never-was, the Caution
musicdisk, was delayed so long the group fell apart before it was
released. Ho hum. The trouble is, interfaces require co-ordination with a
graphician and a coder, not to mention all the nitpicking over small
irrelevant details... :P
2. Interfaces don't play your tunes the way you intended them to sound
   ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
This happened to Vivid with his Aspects Of Sound musicdisk; one of the
songs contained arpeggio commands, and the result bore no resemblance to
the output from FastTracker. Ouch.

3. You use an interface once to see what it's like, and then delete it
   ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Admit it. The last time you played The Grey Note, or The Crossing, or
Point Of Departure, did you use the Progression interface... or did you
use Cubic or Capamod? :)
So, we didn't include an interface. Well, interfaces are cosmetic. Why
bother?
Personally, I'd rather track. ;)
The Songs...
~~~~~~~~~~~~
                           ---Yammah's Fury 96---

This is a remake of one of my May 95 releases, cos the original didn't
bear enough resemblance to the original that I did on my old Yamaha PSS580
FM keyboard. I kept picking at it and picking at it, and one day I
realized it was much, MUCH better than the original. So I'm releasing
it... one year on from the release of the original. :) (Yeah, THAT'S where
the disk got its name. :) )

                        ---Farewell Lasts Forever---

One of three tunes I previewed to Ara, Mellow-D and Floss at Ara's place
before NAID. A nice mellow ballady piece (c'mon, you knew there was gonna
be a ballad in here somewhere ;) ) with some n33t acoustic guitar. =)

                           ---The Peace Within---

This one has some intriguing history. I -thought- I'd uploaded it to
cdrom.com, so I put it (in its original state, which was a total mess) on
my web pages. Hopefully, nobody downloaded it from there cos I -didn't-
upload that original version to cdrom.com after all. =) This version, of
course, is fine; more acoustic guitar (much more) and some decent electric
guitar. =)

                          ---Chordial Chipness---

I wrote this one in one day (!#@$@!$@#!!$@) at Depth's place while I was
staying with him the day before NAID started. I dunno how well it did in
the NAID 3-channel chipcompo, but Mental Floss liked it. =)

                           ---Into The Breach---

Dunno what to say about this one... it's the weak spot of the pack IMO,
but still worthy of release. This is another of the three tunes I
previewed to Ara, Floss and Mellow-D. It's got a reasonable brass bit, and
it's, uh, one of those unclassifiable ones again. :}

                     ---When Life Touches Dreams...---

N33t mellow tune, not too long, just... nice. :)

                       ---(I Wanna) Dance Forever---

The third one previewed by Floss, Mellow-D and Ara. =) Came 14th in the
NAID96 Music Compo. =) Caused Leviathan to call me Whitney Houston (d0e!@)
and spawned a running joke which, every time I see it being used on #trax,
(I Wanna) Kick The Person Who Says It. ;D

                             ---All The Way---

My MC4 tune which didn't make it into the final. Some people say I was
robbed, one of the judges' comments said he/she felt happy just listening
to it and loved the percussion and bass, and Smash reliably informs me
that the percussion -stinks-. :( I now stand alongside Kal Zakath and Luv
Kohli in proclaiming my suckworthiness. :I

                           ---Triumph Of Love---

aMUSiC sez:
This tune won the Gardening '96 Tracked Music Compo. It's the only 4
channel tune in the pack (and the only 4 channel tune that won a 16
channel compo =). No doubt, this tune is my best tune up to now. The
sampling is not very good, due to bad grounding of my synth, but the
result is still breathtaking.

Greets...
~~~~~~~~~
Lemm:   Everyone who greets me on #trax, obviously :) and everyone who
        ever sent me fan mail. =) You know who you are. ;)
        Oh, and aMUSiC and Welti, especially, for obvious reasons. ;D
aMUSiC: Well, the dudez that deserve my greets, know who they are. But
        some people deserve more than simple greets. So lots of more
        important than greetz, (as in one virtual object) go to Liam, Welti,
        Da, the Greek fellas and all those people in #trax who stood by
        me when I most needed it.
See ya in our next release ...whenever it may be. =)
