In a hostile arctic wilderness, Matt's bear hunting holiday goes very 
bad. You will need to battle polar bears, wolves and a renegade faction
of the Russian army to survive.

Known Bugs/nonbugs	: a peculiarity of Q1 and Q2 is that 'complex'
			train entities 'may' cause damage to player. So 
			you may have to watch where you stand in the 
			Snowcat. [ie; don't stand between the seat &
			dashboard]

HOW TO RUN "SOF: Mission 4 -- Cold as Ice":

Create an arctic directory under your Quake2 directory and parallel to
baseq2 as per following diagram. Then extract all the files in 
sofm4.zip into the arctic directory. 

*** DO NOT *** extract the files into baseq2 !!!

Then to run, open up the arctic directory with Win95 File Explorer
and double-click the .bat file that corresponds to the skill level
you want to play in. 

Note: For best performance close down all unnecessary Windows progs 
before running.

SPOILER WARNING! Read no further if you don't want HINTS.
- The way out of the start area is a low underwater tunnel [the snowcat
faces it]. You need to use crouch key to get through it.
- Bears [mutants] can't be fought in the style one fights most Q2
monsters. Attack and dash is good method, as is running away and 
finding place they can't reach you:]
- To progress past igloo area, get on igloo roof and you will see
a large icycle/iceblock on ledge beside. Blow away the ice as there is 
a cave behind it.
-the large water area [where the bear attacks a wolf] has 2 entrances.
The upper entrance is the easiest way to approach this area.
- After breaking into metal Russian building you need to find the
broken radio and get message. Then you can exit to level 2 through 
the vent door by the radio. 
-To exit level 2 [and end game] you will need to shoot the barrel by
the observaton tower. Shooting it will cause the tower to topple
and then it blows a hole in the shed that holds the skidoo you will
need to jump chasm to Canada.
