* Story *

WANTED IN four solar systems. Held on multiple accounts of
          petty larceny. nondescript terrorizing. loitering.
HIS NAME strikes a certain fear in crime lords and
          next-door street goons alike.

HE IS none other than Citizen Abel:
The most efficient and economical hitman in the galaxy.

RE: Specialty Fieldwork

Greetings to our fair city of Sand Yego, Mr. Abel. I assume that all our
arrangements are going as planned.

I have taken the liberty of outfitting you with the latest addition to
my unbelievably illicit collection of weaponry. I think you'll be pleased
with the choice I've made for you. The brochure description of it is as
follows:

  [CZECH CZ-85 HANDCANNON]
The afficionado's personal weapon of choice. The power of a layman
shotgun thermo-hermetically stuffed into the housing of a handpistol.
Outlawed in all known galaxies; will be outlawed in unknown galaxies
once they become known. Sports a very keen polished ivory handle-grip.
The epitome of hunting cannons. Packs firepower capable of easily
punching through three Pythagorean Elephants. Consists of 8.5pe
Longbarrels daisy-chained with transaxle roto-helix, while keeping
triggercatch at a relative minimum. Consumes standard shotgun shells.
Whereas handcannons are a dime a dozen nowadays, this beauty has a
certain charm that none can deny. Signature blast muzzle has been
de-ionized, re-distilled, and de-odorized to provide accuracy and
    dignity to any budding marksman.
      <ammo: Wexler EP (Elephant-piercing) Shotgun Shells>
<note: this is your default weapon>
<note: shells can punch through most glass surfaces>

I believe that you will find doing business with me is a very reassuring
thing to have. Approach with extreme prejudice and earn yourself an
honest buck. Enjoy your stay in Sand Yego.

                                        With Regards,
                                           Posono Billis

* Gameplay Notes *

> Wanton killing is really unnecessary.
If an enemy is just standing around and doesn't see you, save
yourself some bullets and just walk right on by behind the fellow.
Indiscriminate killing is very unfashionable. But of course
there are certain situations in which the only solution is
steady aim and a pocket full of shells.

> Take care not to fall off of ledges.
Falling long distances results in the loss of living. Compared
to the standard Quake2 marine, your legs are considerably less
shock-proof. Resist the temptation of broken ankles.

> Realize your curse of mortality.
While you indeed are a crackshot marksman, you are not invincible.
If you have a mob on your tail, save your ammo and just get the
hell out of dodge. You are not going to get "extra points" for
wiping out an entire squad of goons.

> Have fun.
Don't take contract killing so seriously.

                            occasionally wonks out. if you
                            start getting injured for no

                           "the tunnel map"
can get wonky. don't move around
too much, except when you need to.

                          the kill-count meter tells fibs.

- various deathmatch maps (d99dm1 through d99dm9)

The original plan was to make Abel 4 on a different engine than
Quake 2. But alas no other engine has all the single-player
capabilites that Quake 2 has.

These maps would not have been possible without Lazarus,
made by the very talented David Hyde and Mad Dog, and also
of course, their beta test team. Lazarus is a masterpiece
of an add-on that easily makes Quake 2 top-tier for mappers.

Big thanks also to The Coven for open-source releasing their
mod Deadlode II. Their graphics and sound assets were very
well done and helpful.

r_speeds are relatively low. In a couple of spots the r_speeds
rise to a maximum of 1200, but for the most part, they average
around 400-800. A mildly beefy system is more than enough.

Thanks for downloading this map. If you have any comments
