Description : This is the 'not-for-speedrunning' version of my map The Pit, which was at SDA.
Modification were made using Shambler's suggestions (monsters & items replaced,
re-lighting some areas, etc.) to be more suitable for Single Player gaming.
It has custom textures, most of those made by me.

Additional Credits to : ID Software
Nolan Pflug for UQBSP, for testing and for making the map available at SDA
                          Tyrann for TYRLITE
                          Antony Suter for RVIS
Someone who made the textures which weren't made by me
Peter Horvath, Stefan Schwoon for testing

Known Bugs : 'r_speeds problems' at some places in non-GL versions of quake (walls not drawn)
                          Workaround: see below
Build Time : Too much!
Compile time : UQBSP: 62 sec, RVIS: 3163 sec, TYRLITE: 506 sec

* Other Info *

To run the map extract it into your quake/id1/maps folder (if it is not there already then create that structure)
and then run quake. Bring down the console (the ` key) and type map thepit.

Workaround for the r_speeds problem in non-GL quake:
Before starting the map, type in the console:
r_maxsurfs 1500
r_maxedges 3200
That should help.
Enjoy!

Don't forget to try speedrunning!
