Description :This is the fifth Half-Life level I've made. It will be the last installment in the Resistance series. I tried to make it challenging but not too difficult. I recommend playing it in difficult mode for the ultimate Half-Life experience.

*Play Information*

Single Player :Yes.
Deathmatch :No.
Cooperative :No.
Difficulty Settings	:Yes.
New textures :No.
New sounds :No.
Running the level	:

Patch 1.0.0.9 or higher - Play it through the Custom game option. You probably know the drill.

Pre 1.0.0.9 - If you're like me and don't have the TFC and other later patches, you can play Resistance 3 this way. Rename pak0.pak to pak1.pak and put it into your Sierra\Half-Life\valve directory. Ignore the other files in the Resistance 3 folder. There are then two ways to play it. You can startup Half-Life in console mode and type "skill X" (X being 1=easy, 2=medium, 3=difficult) and then type "map xen1".

Or you can make a shortcut of HL.exe, right click on the icon, go to properties, click on the shortcut tab, look for the end of the Target command line, add a single space, then add "+skill X" (X being 1=easy, 2=medium, 3=difficult), and then add "+map xen1". You can also add "-dev -toconsole" before "+skill X" if you want to use cheat codes. Hit OK and you're all set.

*Story*

After you activated the facility's self-destruct, you escaped through a teleporter. You are knocked unconscious in the transport that ends up taking you to the Borderworld of Xen. You wake up in a unusual building with your HEV suit and all of your weapons missing, apparently lost in the transport. Shortly after the destruction of the facility, the military forces on Xen were ordered to start a genocide campaign against all sentient Xen life. "What we can't control, we'll destroy", sort of thing. Since the death of the Nihilanth, the aliens have become demoralized and unorganized, and easy prey for the military. Unfortunately, that's going to change.

An alien controller by the name of Nexus has recently taken command of Xen and is starting to unite the alien forces against the military. He is becoming more powerful by the day and is starting to take the place of the Nihilanth. If Xen's forces unite under Nexus they will outnumber the military and are capable of overpowering them. If the military is defeated and Nexus survives, Earth can be invaded once again. It's your job to make sure that doesn't happen.

*Goal*

Your mission is to fight through both sides, find Nexus and terminate him. When he realizes that you're coming for him, he will taunt you. You must also face another Bigmomma monster. She's not as tough as her predecessor Gonarch, but she is still quite powerful.

*Tips*

Use the xen trees(spike plants) and barnacles you come across to help you kill your enemies.

Be sure to check the tents that you find, most of them have goodies inside.

*Hints* Don't read these unless you have to.

A crowbar is located inside the right teleporter tube section.

You can find a 9mm Glock handgun and clip by the dead body in the HEV suit.

You can find a shotgun and box of ammo behind the building. You should head back there to get it before you get too heavily chewed up by the grunt squad.

Be sure to get the satchel charge by the dead grunt in the tunnel, you're going to need it.

You can find a .357 on the roof of the command center.

The northern secure access door is openable by the button in the command center.

To get past the tentacle use grenades to distract it.

Be sure to check out the grunt health station for a health charger.

The pick-up truck you come across is operable. Climb on back and hit the use key to operate it and get out of the vehicle garage.

Look inside the wrecked truck for some weapons and ammo.

Near the ending, when Nexus strips you of your weapons and teleports you to his lair, make sure you grap the pistol by the pool. It's all you'll have to kill him.
