Description :This is the third Half-Life level I've made. I designed this map to be challenging but not too hard. I recommend playing it in difficult mode for the ultimate Half-Life experience. Comments and suggestions are valuable to me. If you download and play this level please e-mail me and let me know what you think of it.

Running the level	:After you unzip the file, put pak2.pak and resist.wad into your Sierra\Half-Life\valve directory. There are then two ways to play this map. You can startup Half-Life in console mode and type "skill X" (X being 1=easy, 2=medium, 3=difficult) and then type "map resist3". Or you can make a shortcut of HL.exe, right click on the icon, go to properties, click on the shortcut tab, look for the end of the Target command line, add a single space, then add "+skill X" (X being 1=easy, 2=medium, 3=difficult), and then add "+map resist3". You can also add "-dev -toconsole" before "+skill X" if you want to use cheat codes. Hit OK and you're all set.

*Story*

After you eliminated the special forces unit and escaped the complex in an explorer, you have an opportunity to open the administrator's briefcase. Inside you discover a miniature computer, a pistol, and some documents pertaining to a small government research facility located in Fort Defiance, Arizona. The documents describe plans for further experiments to be done at this facility. Experiments aimed at finding a way to control Xen life forms. If they succeed they will have their own alien army, they would be able to use it to destroy anything or anyone they wanted and blame it on rogue Xen aliens. You decide you can't allow this to happen. You search the administrator's computer and find an image of the retina of his eye. You plan a night raid against the facility to put a stop to these experiments. Unfortunately, since the facility was built into the face of a mountain, you were unable to perform much reconnaissance, so you are unaware that the facility is heavily defended by the military. You arrive as planned and use the administrator's retina image on a retina scanner by the back door of the facility. Unfortunately, the government knowing about the administrator's death and your possession of his computer, removed his access to government facilities. Luckily, you have a plan B, you've brought along some explosives you obtained from the special forces unit. You place it near the door and prepare to detonate it.

*Goal*

Your goal is to survive and reach the other end of the facility. When you get there you have to activate the self destruct system and escape before the facility is destroyed. After the facility is eliminated the government will be unable to duplicate the experiments. Good Luck.

You will encounter a few different kinds of non-hostiles in the facility, some will be allies in your mission to stop the experiments, others won't. When the military realizes that you have allies in the facility they will attempt to execute them as well.

*Tips*

The grunts that don't wear helmets are more susceptible to head shots.

The two soda vending machines in the cafeteria work, you can get health from the soda cans.

Most of the computers and electronics that you will find are destructable.

Your scientist allies in the facility will give you a health shot if your health falls below 50%.

Almost all of the small crates that you will find on shelves contain ammunition.

The crates that you will find in the storage facilities towards the end don't contain any weapons, ammo, or health so you don't need to break them open.

*Hints*

Warning - Don't read these unless you have to.

A shotgun is located on top of the power box outside the first building.

To get in the storage room in the first building, you have to break the window and shoot the panel on the opposite wall.

A gauss gun is located inside the cargo truck by the main entrance of the facility.

You can find a small amount of health in the APC.

To take out the tank, shoot the explosive barrel next to it to weaken it, and aim for the rotating turret to finish it off. The second quard tower is a good place to shoot at the tank with the crossbow and receive little or no damage.

When you first enter the second building you are unable to leave the first room, to do so activate the security overide switch on the wall. This will open the doors and also deactivate the alien containment system.

To gain access to the armory in the second building, look for the crack on the wall by the door, then hit the area with your crowbar. You'll have two barriers to break through to get into the armory.

When you enter the second storage facility and eliminate the grunts, you have to use the satchel charge, or some other kind of explosive, on the door to gain access to the next room.

To initiate the self destruct system, break the glass around the button and hit the use key to activate it.
