ITFP - Into the Frying Pan
--------------------------
http://www.pcisys.net/~goadeff/itfp.zip

A short (very short) Half-Life single player map, started with WorldCraft and finished with QuArK. I modeled the house after my own; to make it playable, I multiplied most horizontal dimensions by two, and adjusted vertical where necessary (doors). To limit visible poly count throughout, I made use of "teleport doors". The doors are solid walls, with an embedded button and thin teleport triggers on either side. Move right up against them and use the action key to get to the other side.

When I'm not driving evil government troops from this house, I populate it with some of the more colorful monsters of Half-Life, and go hunting with my son - I steer and he shoots :-)

Installation
------------
Create a folder called "ITFP" in your Half-Life directory, for example: "C:\Sierra\Half-Life\ITFP". The contents of ITFP.zip must go into this directory, including subdirectories. The "Play ITFP" short-cut in the ITFP directory should be all you need to play the game. If your Half-Life directory is elsewhere other than C:\Sierra\Half-Life, modify the short-cut properties appropriately. I added r_decals 10 to the short-cut, since a lot of blood seemed to be getting splattered on my walls and slowing things down.

Halved the number of grunts, so they wouldn't run into each other and do stupid things like set grenades on themselves.

Story
------
His name is Freeman, and that's about the only thing he has in common with his cousin Gordon. Ed Freeman is a family man; he has recently moved into a large house in the Arizona desert with his wife and kids, and has enjoyed an otherwise uneventful life... until now. Ed receives a suprise shipment of various boxes and crates. In one of the containers Ed finds a strange armoured suit. Accompanying the suit is a garbled letter from his cousin, with references to a government conspiracy and a promise to visit him soon, with further explanation. That night, Ed is awakened by the sound of helicopters... and someone bashing at his front door. Looks like the bad guys have come to reclaim their property. Time to put on that funky suit in the closet and grab the household protection from the night stand. Look for other boxed weaponry around the house; that 357 packs a punch, but you may need help. Good thing the wife and kids are away :-) Doors in this house open quickly and easily - just move into them and press the action key.
