The latest mini-mod from FrikaC and Akuma
	     Christmas 2000

History (this is just for a bit of background)
--
Well, I (Akuma) was working on a couple of mini-mods for christmas, but they weren't turning
out like I'd hoped, so I scrapped them. Feeling sorry for myself, I moped onto IRC and, well,
moped. FrikaC asked me to join him in the production of his secret mod for christmas so,
eager to work with Frik once more, I started spouting ideas (although THEY were a bit few and
far between) and working on the visual and aureal side of things (that's graphics and sounds
to you and me). Frik took care of the code, some models and the sound effects, and I got the
left overs (some models, skins, graphics and music).

Description
--
This is to snowboarding as Slide was to hoverboarding, only shorter.
Take to the slopes on flat wooden plank and speed past (or into) trees, rocks, bigger rocks,
"No-skiing" signs, and up ramps. Collect items like speedups, health, mega points bonuses,
and 1000 points bonuses. What? Points? Yes, points. You're points are displayed on-screen at
all times, and it's always going up - by how much is up to your skills (or lack of) with the
'board. Your high-score is recorded, and when you die (read: run out of health), you're told
if you beat said high-score (it starts off at 0).
--
Pickup Items
--
Ankh* - 1000 points bonus
Mega Bonus - creates a bonus items field
Health* - +25 health
Speedup - speeds you up! cummulative - get one while you already have it and it adds to it
--
Obstacles
--
Tree - tall, so don't try and jump them, just swerve
Small rock - small and easily jumpable, don't pose much of a threat
Large rock - considerably larger, but you can just about jump them, they're quite fat, tho
Sign - knock these babies down for 100 points a pop. Take THAT ya lousy regulations!
--
Misc
--
Ramp - boosts you over potentially nasty obstacles, like a large number of rocks
-
Dodging obstacles gives you points, cummulative so more dodges = more points for further ones
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Controls
--
+moveleft - the "strafe left" command, use it to move left
+moveright - the ying to moveleft's yang, use it to move right
+jump	- like it says, jump
-
These are the only controls
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Installation
--
Simply unzip this archive to your Quake directory, and the "snowed" sub-directory will be
created automatically, provided you use the correct settings in your zip decompression
software. I won't explain how to do this, because I'm perfectly sure the manual of said
software explains it clearly.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Running the game
--
Run "snowed.bat" included with this archive to play snowed in software mode
If GLQuake is more your thing, run "glsnowed.bat". This is made to run with DarkPlaces.exe
in your Quake directory, so modify it to your needs (your favourite GLQuake engine)
Note that this mod includes a skybox, so be sure to use an engine that supports it if you
wanna see it
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Known bugs
--
Because of the approach taken when making this mod, the ground *sometimes* doesn't "flow"
correctly, and you can briefly see cracks in the floor, but it doesn't affect gameplay at all
