This pak file is a tribute to the hard working folks in the action community who continue to keep improving the feel of the best mod ever designed for Quake2!

Simply unzip the file to your X:\Quake2\Action\ folder and rename AktionPak to Pak9, keeping the .pak file extension intakt.
Content is described below, and given credit for where possible. I don't know these people, but am glad they do what they do.

	********WEAPON SKINS********

The MK23, single and akimbo, masterfully skinned to resemble Ruger P97 .45cal autos.
	-ZeUsO-
The Shotgun, tastefully enhanced to resemble a combat Mossberg w/nickel finish.
	Red13
The Handcannon, truly the most beautiful skin of the pak, it looks as though the stock has been well oiled and the bluing on the barrels is better than new; a masterpiece.
	Kiribati
The mp5, while a little on the bright side, shows much more detail in the actual model. Almost a beadblasted stainless or nickel look is achieved.
	Red13

	******Replaced Models*******

The Combat Knife, totally reworked and reanimated, with its own skin, looks much heavier and resembles the Applegate/Fairburn combat issue knife for close quarters.
	TheSaint
The Sniper Rifle, feared and revered, is now available in .50cal, w/stock mounted bipod.
Note: the original pak included only the v_sniper mdl and pcx, so I found a g_sniper pcx that closely matched the colorscheme of the v_sniper and let the existing g_sniper.mdl stay.
	Claymore: v_sniper mdl and pcx
	The Couch Guy: g_sniper.pcx

	*******PICS and GFX*********

There are many facelift packs available, which change the HUD and the console, etc., but this one seemed to me the most tasteful, if menacing of them all. The health icon is a Kadeusus [sp?], which I always love, but the rest of the HUD doesn't interfere w/gameplay, i.e. being too bright for sustained play in a dark room. A nice touch is the new console tag which is relaxing and blue, w/ a complimentary colored text.
	Devo
Sniper Xhairs, always a sensitive decision, as many are very particular about looking at something which is the "bread-winner" so to speak. After trying many, I have found that this one is among the most dialed for accuracy, and also realistic for keeping the action theme. There are easier ones too see, but this is the 20th century were going for, not the 24th. I really like this zoom indicator.

General Xhairs, which replace the ones from the BaseQ2 paks you may be using. I have many custom Xhairs in my BaseQ2 folder, but find them to be inappropriate to Action style play.
These are all from separate authors, and all have their use in the game. ch2.pcx has been modified for accuracy from the right hand side (hand0 in the console), which most people play from in Action. I recommend using ch1 for the "usespecial", the ch2 for single and akimbo pistols as well as knife, and the ch3 for shotgun & handcannon.
]II[B=Ware: ch1, modified original angle from Q2 to green
Dar'tanion: highly visible cross dialed in for hand0 accuracy to 8 quake paces
Mr. Clark: Decent shotgun cross, forces you to get up close and personal 8)

	**********Sounds************

This pak contains the work of alot of other paks, and I try to site them and those that they borrowed from as well. I'm sure there are a few redundant sounds from the original pak0.pak, but I think you will find the overall experience much more realistic, and richer sounding as well.
Kiribati, esp the headshot and veston wavs
Kwazydawg, whom I understand Kiribati borrowed heavily from and tweaked up
Promagnon, esp the bandaging wav and the simpler screw wav for the silencer (more realistic)

********************************************************************************************

Well, that about ties up the credits, and explains a lot of the goodies that you can get if you just shop around. I've done that for a while and I know it can be frustrating. If you get only one pak to change your game, this should be it.
