Description   : This is a medium-large sized map. 
                
                Mostly covered in blood, the walls resemble guts or 
                perhaps rocks. There are blood rivers, and blood stained 
                floors. Its all held together with chrome looking steel 
                and metal. Satan star lights and Blood red sky 
                illuminate the map. Completely new texture set of my design.
            
                Most of the weapons are available and 2 rocket launchers.
                There is a fair amount ammo around (Mostly nails/cells ;).  
                Green and Yellow armor make an appearance in the map.
                There are no powerups or 100H
                There are 4 Teleports, (set of 2)
                There are no secrets, and no traps, or doors of any kind.
                This map has taken me ages to complete.

Map Name             : Darkness
Single Player        : Nope, not this time
Co-op                : No
Duel                 : Yeah, if you try hard enough.
Deathmatch 2-4       : Good
Deathmatch 4-8       : More like it
Deathmatch 8+        : Yep, this map would be great for clan matches. 
                       It has large hallways, to facilitate easy movement 
                       of teams.
Difficulty Settings  : No
Additional Info      : You can get on the roof of one particular area. 
                       No secrets apart from that.

Base               : New map from scratch.
                     100% my own textures, from complete scratch, 
                     freely available on my site.
Editor used        : Worldcraft

Construction time  : Bloody ages.. seemed like forever.. still going really.
Compile time       : QBSP  - n/a
                     Light - n/a
                     VIS   - n/a
                     On a Pentium ][ Celeron 333a with 64 Mb RAM.

Known bugs         : During construction, there was a few problems where 
                     you could fall through stuff, and even out of the level. 
                     Seems to be resolved now. There are heaps of texture 
                     stuff ups, and the lighting is awful in more than a 
                     few places.

* How to use this level *

In your Quake\Id1 folder create a folder called "maps" and copy the
map into it. 

eg. C:\Quake\ID1\Maps

This means any mod, or any type of quake will be able to find the map.
(Including Quake World)

In Quake (Q95, WinQuake, GLQuake), bring up the console (press ~) and type:
map darkness

In QuakeWorld? 
Start a Quake World server (qwsv.exe) on your own machine, type: map darkness
Start up the Quake World client and type: 
connect localhost

If anybody wants the original .map or Worldcraft (.rmf) to have a look at, 
or to learn some tricks to make nice effects / good gameplay, you are welcome 
to ask for it. Please dont bother stealing the textures or decompiling the 
bsp to a map, as I will gladly let people have them, if they ask!
