Tribute - skirmish map by Dark Angel Fedrael

"Dread Lord Keeper, all goes as planned. Your enemy's imps are in league with us - they will bring us creatures fallen in battle to convert to our cause, and with these warriors we can conquer all who oppose us!"

The other keepers have already claimed all the portals, and there are no neutral creatures anywhere. You have only a warlock and his two goblin servants, a prison, and a couple of traps. A hopeless situation? Your warlock tells you to think again! He has devised a way to magically snare the nearest enemy keeper's imps, and has one captured in your prison awaiting painful, magical experimentation. By threatening the others with the same fate he has shaken their allegience to their keeper, and they have agreed to drag to your dungeon all foes their own forces conquer. Use these unfortunates as a resource for your prison, torture chamber, graveyard, or temple, and build an army to vanquish the other keepers. You'd better pray to the dark gods that the blue keeper doesn't discover her imps' treachery too soon...and that the heroes don't send a cadre of their most powerful wizards to gain the secret of the imp-snaring spell for themselves.

Copyright Jonny Fedrael: don't put my map anywhere without this file - I'm hoping that my innovations will be noticed by a talent scout from Bullfrog. Well, it is a fantasy game...

Setting up: everything goes in Bullfrog/Dungeon Keeper 2/data/editor/maps except for the bmp file which goes in Dungeon Keeper 2/data/editor/maps/thumbnails.

Proviso: I'm sorry if this does anything bad to your system, it's not my fault. It works fine on mine, with DK2 upgrade 1.51 as I think the skirmish A.I. is better than 1.7 - enemy keepers don't defend claimed tiles in later upgrades.

Thanks to Bullfrog for the best game ever, to the lovely Mark Kinkead for the editor, and to The Evil One for his web pages that stopped me pulling my hair out (area triggers, THEN time triggers, ah-ha, that's why it wasn't working).

E-mail me with comments if you like at Jonseroo@ntlworld.com, and I would appreciate suggestions about map making as I have only just started and I mean to continue as it feels like being the Uberkeeper, the Keeper of all the Keepers. Look out for other maps I am feverishly creating and playtesting:

Linchpin - are you ready to pull the pin and lose all your creatures in seconds?
Keeper of the Rings - "One ring to rule them all and in the darkness...damn, where did I put it?"
Seven Deadly Sins - temptations distract you from battle; if you have to be good to win, wouldn't you rather be evil and lose?
Teleport Assault - enemy minions keep on appearing in your dungeon as if by magic - leaving no trail to their keeper's heart.
Macbeth - slay the king and fortify against the coming foliage of vengeance.
Food Chain - can there be a winner in this conundrum of a multiplayer game?
Four Horsemen - Death, Pestilence, and Famine plot against you, to win you must become War.
