General info:
  Map name: Ancients
  Map version: 1.00
  For: Dungeon Keeper 2
  Type: Skirmish - Quest style
  Players: 2 + Heroes
  Size: 120x120

Objectives

With your three champions, locate the lost caverns of Skargorn, picking up count Dracula on the way. Then resurrect the elite minions of Skargorn and kick King Reginald's butt. This map is very strategy orientated in that it is virtually impossible to defeat King Reginald's troups with a frontal assault. Some devious thinking will be called for on this map. And don't neglect your exploration as there are some very valuable items hidden in far away places.

Notes on Gameplay:

The map is vast and will take a long time to complete. It's a pity that saving and reloading turns the elites into ordinary creatures. This means that if you want your creatures to remain elites, then you have to complete it in one go. I suggest that you save the game shortly before claiming the Skargorn portal, as the elites will only appear once you have done this. That way you can have a break at that point, which you'll probably need by then, hey hey :^).

All creatures except Dark Angels are set to 0, so that the map must be fought and won with the three start creatures (these are quite strong), the 10 (or was it 9??) elites and a handful of convertees. Torture chamber and prison space is limited and construction of both is set off, so convert only the best.

This map is all about quality over quantity. Your creatures are elites, but still need to be watched carefully, as they cannot be replaced. For the early part of the mission, keep in mind that a Warlock in possession is an excellent healer.

The Horny spell is available and essential to conquering certain parts of the map. There are quite a number of specials hidden away, including three level ups. It is advisable to find these.

Starting gold: 1000
Portals: You get one and the second portal in the centre of the map is purely decorative, as you have 0 creature limits.
Land: Limited
Enemies: Lots and lots.

Useful info:
Installation: You must have extracted all the files to be reading this --
now just copy all the .kld and .kwd files into your
Dungeon Keeper 2 \DATA\EDITOR\MAPS directory, and the .bmp
                   files into your \DATA\EDITOR\MAPS\THUMBNAILS directory.
If it's working, the map should appear in the map list.
For multiplayer games, all the computers must have the map
                   installed.

   history:

Possible * Possible since I always like to make things better.
updates: I will also probably make a fair multiplayer version later.

Thanks to: * Bullfrog for making DK2
                  * 'Mark' (what's his full name?) for making the DK2Mapper
                  * And everyone who plays this map (that's you!)

This map has not been tested in multiplayer mode, but there is no reason it should not work if all players have it. If it does anything bad to you or your property, I am not responsible. The map may be freely distributed, as long as no files are added, removed, or modified.
