11.11.99		Short Manual for DK2MapsHh - Editor

Here is a short Manual for DK2MapsHh (V5.13).

Until now I had not enough time to program a online-help-file so 
here is a short discription of my program.

The program is written for screen size of 1024x768. It will also work
in 800x600 but the look of the buttons is not perfect.
The program was written under WinNT. If there are some runtime-resource
problems under Win95/98 send me a bug report !

After starting the program you can see the following tools:
-the main mask
-the zoom-buttons
-the window for the selected mapcode
-the toolsbuttons:
	-filetools
	-minimap
	-fieldinfo
	-mapinfo
	-clear fields
	-clear things...
	-language (german/english)
	-sound
	-jump to

1) Filetools:
	-CREATE a new file
	-OPEN an existing file
	(later)
	-SAVE the file
	-CLOSE the file
	-CREATE the level
	-Filename
	-Levelname

After creating a new file you have to open in with OPEN file.

2) MiniMap:
	-here you can move across the hole map on a small-size-map 
	with the left mouse-button.
	-with the right mouse-button you can select the details 
	shown on the minimap.

3) Field-Info:
	When you cross a field on the map the fieldinfo-mask shows
	you the most important things about the field.

4) Map-Info:
	In this mask you get a summary of the map.

5) Clear fields / clear things...
	all fields/things are cleared.

6) Language:
	switch between german and english for most textfields.

7) Sound:
	switch on/off the sound. The soundmessages are in english.

8) Jump to:
	lists for areas, herogates and dungeonhearts to jump to.
	just doubleclick with the left mouse button.

9) Filename / Levelname:
	See 1) input in filetools.

10) Random-tools:
	-gold
	-gems
	-empty
	-solid rock
	-water
	-lava
	with every push on the button you create a field(s) on the map.

11) new mapcodefield:
	here are 3 possibilities:
	-no fields:
		when you work on things, triggers and so on then the 
		input of fields are locked (CROSS).
	-field-edit: 
		when you are in the field-edit-mode here the new map
		code is showed.
	-edit areas:
		when you edit an area then here is showed the mode of the 
		changement.
	
	when you click on the field with the right mouse-button you change
	the working-mode to field-edit.
	with the left mouse the mapcode-selection in entered. 
	The mapcode is selected with a left-mouse-doubleclick.

12) Mapfield:
	in the field-edit mode with the left mouse-button the mapcodes can be 
	painted.
	Stay on the left mouse button for longer than 1 second to select the
	mapcode of the selected field.
	The right mouse-button is used to move the map.
	With a doubleclick right the clicked field is centered and zoomed.
	The right mouse button longer than 1 second activates a menu for the
	things...-edit tools.(look 12a)
	The herogates are also created/deleted here.
	The areas can be created, deleted and edited with this menu.
	Afer the selection edit-areas the program is waiting for the lefttop-
	poisition. Afer this the right-bottom-point of the area has to be ckicked
	by the left-mouse-button.

12a) Menu-Tools:
	edit map:
		normal map-edit mode
	on all fields:
		you get 4 lists of all things, creatures, doors and traps in the
		map.
		select them for deleting
		doubleclick them for jump to.
	edit field things, creatures, doors and traps:
		to change the things,... on this field.
		select them for delete.
		copy new ones from right list to the left.
	herogate:
		create a new on if there is no one. (the right mapcode has to be 
		on this field)
		delete an existing one.
	area:
		create a new one if there is no one.
		delete an existing area.
		edit the topleft and bottomright corner of the area (with the left 		
		mouse button)
	triggers:
		first create, delete the triggers in the top list
		then create, delete the actions for the triggers in the bottom list.
		Automatik: automatic creation of new triggers.
	bands:
		create new bands in the left small list.
		select members in the left list for delete.
		copy new members from the right list to the left list.
	startdata:
		change the startdata for the keepers.
	gold:
		change the startvalue on gold for the keepers.



	

If you want to create levels you will also need some more files (look under read info).

This program is not made for professional use or for selling. It is full
freeware and you are not allowed to sell it to anybody.
